"The 6th Day of the Creation" is a monochromatic woodcut print created by M.C. Escher in 1926.

It is part of Escher's early series of works titled "I sei giorni della creazione" (The Six Days of Creation), which illustrates the biblical narrative of creation from the Book of Genesis.

Part of the Nile mosaic of Palestrina, a floor mosaic depicting a flooded Nilotic landscape inhabited by exotic animals, Greek Ptolemaic soldiers, and Aethiopian hunters. From the Sanctuary of Fortuna Primigenia at Praeneste, a town east of Rome. It is dated c. 100 BC.

The painting is a view towards the port of Hamammet, a seaside town in Tunisia.

Klee began experiencing symptoms of scleroderma in 1935, which affected his health and eventually led to his death in 1940. Despite the physical challenges, Klee continued to produce art, though his productivity declined.
