Einstein, previously known as "Teddy", is a 2 year old Lionhead rescue.
His story starts out a bit tragic. He was abandoned at what is called "the Bunny Park", a local park where many bunnies are dropped off when people no longer want to take care of them. Unfortunately, this park has a lot of predators, so many rabbits are harmed or killed.
Luckily, East Coast Rabbit Rescue frequently comes to this park and rescues the bunnies. According to the rescue, when they arrived, Teddy (the name the rescue gave him) hopped right up to them and sat down in front of them, almost like he was saying "I'm ready to go now. I don't want to be here anymore."
The park and probably a previous owner had traumatized Teddy.
He spent a few months at the rescue before a person, who was looking to become a first time bunny mom, came in to meet some bunnies. She came in looking for a young female rabbit since her brother, who is a bunny dad, told her a female will bond with her more easily.
She was looking for an emotional support animal after having a traumatic experience that left her with PTSD and paranoia, on top of exacerbating a cocktail of others she already had.
The rescue introduced her to Teddy. They told her that he would be able to help her while she would be able to help him. As they played together, he nuzzled her to claim her as his. She made up her mind, and on June 10, 2018, she officially adopted her new best friend.
She felt that the name "Teddy" didn't suit him enough. While it definitely fit his look, his personality was wacky, and he was incredibly smart. He was able to open his cage on his own and he learned new things very quickly. He was even able to recognize when his new mom was having a panic episode and jumped to offer his services and make sure she was okay. She decided to give him a new name: Einstein.
Since then, Einstein has been by his mom's side, and his mom cant help but gush at how adorable her boy is. Every day is a new experience. While he might get on her nerves sometimes, she could not imagine what her life would be like without him.
And that is where our adventures begin...
