Naturalia: Reclaimed by Nature by Jonathan Jimenez

Somewhere between nature and culture, Jonathan Jimenez aka Jonk’s photographic work is in some way the prolongation of this duel vision of ruins. His camera lens, through the softly-coloured photographs, take us on a journey across tall architectural structures often completely overrun with rambling weeds, immense concrete or steel shells that have fallen into ruin. Naturalia is a long journey between memory and forgetting, ruins and vegetation, modernity and Antiquity.

Otherworldly ‘Earth Pyramids’ Captured in the Foggy Early Morning Light by Photographer Kilian Schönberger

Photographer Kilian Schönberger climbed the Alps late at night to capture one of the mountain range’s strangest segments, alien-like columns found in South Tyrol, an autonomous province in Northern Italy. His series Otherworld showcases the so-called “earth pyramids” in a hazy dawn light, strange creations that appear like stalagmites freed from their underground caves.

At 270 miles long, the Lijiang is not one of China’s mighty waterways. Yet it looms large in the national imagination, thanks to a breathtaking 52-mile stretch of river between the southwestern cities of Guilin and Yangshuo. The landscape here inspired countless artists and writers of the Tang dynasty (618-907 CE) and later periods; China’s current regime honors it with an image on the 20-yuan bill.

Aerial Landscapes by Henry Do

Three years ago, a GoPro photograph of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, went viral and changed the course of Henry Do‘s life. Since then, the Las Vegas-based photographer has taken to the skies all over the world. Do bought his first drone back in 2015. He got his second drone a week later. Last fall, he told Full Drone that his favorite photograph was one he’d taken on the coast of Oahu, Hawaii. This post gathers together a number of his incredible images including Yellowstone National Park, Monument Valley and the Hawaii’s amazing landscapes.
