ABOUT
Elias Kim Jones | 29 | Civilian | Charles Melton
To say that his parents had any sort of influence on his life would be a lie. At least, not his birth parents. Given up for adoption by a teenager who didn’t want to face the wrath of her conservative parents overseas, Elias was adopted by a Chicago couple when he was a few days old. They tried their best, but there was always something different about him, and he couldn’t quite put his finger on it. He loved them, and they were his parents, but growing up in the 90s taught him the importance of fitting a mould. He’s not the sort to seek affirmation from people, but it’s hard when a lot of his childhood revolved around his differences being a driving factor in how he was treated - kids are cruel like that.
He wasn’t particularly academic, and a dyslexia diagnosis only gave him the excuse he needed - school didn’t interest him. But partying did. He didn’t have to read anything at a party, which was a largely attractive factor, and he fell into partying, drinking and drugs relatively easily. What he lacked in academics, he more than made up for in desire to earn his way to the life he wanted. At first, it was using, which quickly became dealing but through a comedy of errors, he found himself learning how to make it. Most people he knew didn’t start cooking up drugs for the hell of it and he definitely wasn’t one of those people. In fact, there was surprisingly not a lot of money to be made in it - not until he found loyal buyers and sellers who were just as greedy as he was. He deals to anyone who wants to buy, and doesn’t have any loyalties to Bratva, Syndicate or other, but he knows who they are and who to avoid.
He’s just discovered what money can do, and now rents a nice apartment downtown, bought a bike and is largely living his life. He’s never had a stable romantic relationship, and he largely sees them as a waste of time, and he’s slowly seeing less and less appeal in monogamy. He doesn’t spend the night, doesn’t go on dates unless there’s something to be gained, and has never really felt the appeal of long lasting relationship. He blames it on getting bored quickly, but he’s never readily thrown himself into anything that would require him to be vulnerable and he doesn’t see that changing any time soon.
