                  The smell of pine filled the house and followed the girl almost everywhere she went, to the ocean, the grocery store or hidden in their motel room, three generations of grimoires sitting on her bed as she skimmed through spells, the sound of the pages turning being the only sound in the room besides the faint sound of water rushing from a showerhead in the bathroom, it reminded her of the rains back home, though it wasn’t like they had been stuck in the motel because of the severe weather warnings, it interrupted the radio every fifteen minutes.

                 Eyes move towards the door as he steps out, a soft smile forms in her features. Pulling the sleeves of her sweater more so over her hands she finally speaks. “They’re saying it’s a class four the motel is packed, I don’t think we can find another place for the next two or maybe even three days. Get comfy.”
