Barriers for those with disabilities:
People with disabilities face a lot issues and barriers throughout society. Their everyday routine can be interrupted by something meant specifically for those without disabilities, and even by those without disabilities. A generalization of the barriers disabled peoples face include obstacles such as: attitutional barriers, communication barriers, physical barriers, policy barriers, programmatic barriers, social barriers, and transportation barriers. Some people don’t treat those with disabilities well, and outright belittle them and thing of them as lower than themselves. Many disabled people have to deal with such people on a constant basis and it makes things difficult for them. Some disabled peoples can’t communicate like most people can. Because of this, sometimes said disabled person struggles in getting something they need or communicating a task. A lot of places and things in society are built for those without disabilities, which makes it so some disabled people can’t participate in activities and aren’t able to go places. While there are laws and policies in place to assist and include those with disabilities, many aren’t swear of those policies, and that can make things a lot more difficult. Sometimes, people with disabilities can’t get the medical supplies they need due to programmatic barriers. There always have been, and likely always will be, barriers between social classes. That is no different when it comes to disabled peoples. Disabled peoples are often looked down upon, and wrongfully so. Finally, people who are physically disabled can’t always afford of find transportation that can suit their needs. That’s a problem especially if they need to be somewhere and quickly.

There are many ways to work out in a wheelchair. General ways include cardiovascular exercises, strength training exercises, and flexibility exercises. Some cardiovascular exercises one can do while in a wheelchair are air punches- literally just punching the air-, water aerobics, and some gyms may offer arm peadals/ arm-bicycling. All of those exercises can raise the heart rate and endurance. Tips for supporting:
For those of you who wish to support their family, friends, or others who are disabled and wish to work out, there’s a lot of ways for you to help encourage them. One way for you to support this minority, or really anybody disabled, is to be informed about their disability/disabilities! If you’re informed about their disability/ disabilities, you can point out ways that you believe they can better themselves, including different ways to work out! You can show them that they can do it by believing in them despite what you know about their disability/disabilities!
