How do you think a tree would react if you said “I hate this tree, I think it’s a piece of shit”? The tree would not react. Do you think the tree cares about your opinion? Did the tree take your opinion to heart? Did the tree break down and start crying over what you said? No. The tree remains unaffected by your praise or slander. Did the tree take on any of your negativity? No, it’s still the same tree. It did not rot, it didn’t break down or fall over, it doesn’t care what you think of it. The only person who’s actually hurting in this situation is the person who expressed their opinion. THEY are upset with the tree, THEY are angry, THEY are the ones with the problem. THEY are the ones creating a storm within themselves while the tree stands idly by watching their negativity break them down. It has NOTHING to do with the tree, and it has EVERYTHING to do with the person who told the tree it was a piece of shit. Be like the tree and don’t allow anyone to phase you. Whatever problems someone has with you are THEIR problems. As long as you don’t react and remain unaffected, people can say whatever they want about you and none of it will matter. Learn from nature and be like a tree.

i really like this. it’s got the microagressions down in a lot of ways, also things like body language and posture? i recognized the men doing things and speaking in ways that women are trained to and it was awesome to see. also things like all the men being nurses or old secretaries in the police station and the hospital. there was also a moment of white feminism, which was interesting to see translated. basically, i like this a lot because it’s a pretty faithful mirror.
