Scott Disick is weird

I really couldn’t think of a better headline than this really. This past week or so Scott Disick has been in the news a lot for cuddling with women almost half his age.

First, it was Bella Thorne and now its Sofia Richie. In like three days I think. The last time I checked he was still with Kourtney and I keep up with celebrity news quite frequently.

Yet, It’s so hard to keep up with the Kardashians. Do you get it?

Anyway, TMZ reported a really short article about Disick and Richie hanging out. Last week he took Bella Thorne to Cannes Film Festival and then he got sick of her and moved on to Sofia Richie, according to the very respectable source.

In this case, I believe it TMZ.

Disick is icky just like all of his women.

Anyone hungry?

This picture is just heightening the imaginary beef that I have with Katy Perry. Does anyone not remember when she kissed a girl for the first time? So innocent and so sweet.

But now? She looks like that.

I miss her hidden sexual innuendos in songs. Now she just lays it all out on the table, literally.

She recently talked about her life and all these changes she has been making in a few recent interviews with different news sources, all put into one article from E! News.

She talked about her curiosity and how her education didn’t really start until she was in her twenties, so she’s still learning. That’s what they all say I guess.

There is so much change happening in the music industry today that I think I might be getting overwhelmed. From Miley to Katy, it’s all too much. It also seems like those two switched spots appearance and persona-wise, but that’s a story for a different day.

Everything is crazy and I am kind of hungry.

Concerts should be a safe place.

It was confirmed that there was a possible backpack suicide bomber at an Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena in England.

19 dead, 50 injured. A lot of chaos happening inside and outside the arena. That is all I know, I am typing this as I hear more information.

All I can say is I am completely saddened. Concerts should be a place to love, embrace, and enjoy. Now they will be another place that people are afraid to attend. People shouldn’t have to fear for their lives while engaging in everyday activities.

After Christina Grimmie getting killed at her own concert last summer you would think that would be a wake-up call to tighten security at every concert since then.

The world makes me so sad sometimes and I do not like the direction that we are going in.

This Bachelorette contestant looks like an elf and he is also a terrible person

I feel like this shouldn’t even happen, like, I shouldn’t even have to comment on this. It’s 2017 and transphobia shouldn’t be a thing.

Before I get ahead of myself, here’s what happened according to E! News.

Florida firefighter Bryce Powers was asked on the ABC website what his biggest date fear was for this season of the show and Powers answered, “The chick is actually a dude.”

OK first off, who says “chick” anymore? Second off, really? All of the date fears you could have and you had to say that you are afraid of a trans woman. It’s sickening actually. It’s also sickening that ABC let that on their website even though it has since been deleted.

You could have said you were afraid of being late, or that you choke on the food.

I’ve learned to always believe there is something higher controlling things, in this case, could this be a publicity stunt to get more people to watch the show premiere tonight? Probably.

Either way, Bryce sucks.

Who’s ready to go Under The Sea?

My heart cannot take it. ANOTHER live musical is coming to prime time! ABC is adapting The Little Mermaid to the Tv screen. This movie resonates with me so you know I will be tuning in on October 3rd to check it out.

Entertainment Weekly and E! News both reported on the news that was released this morning. Everyone's inner child is screaming just like mine. I have to say though, I am so much more excited for this musical than I am for Bye, Bye Birdie and Jesus Christ Superstar on NBC. If this was a competition (which it obviously is) ABC wins.

If the articles I read about this were competing, no one would win because the articles were the exact same. Actually some of the exact words too...interesting. They both reported on the fact that ABC isn’t letting NBC or Fox have all the fun when it comes to live musicals. What I enjoyed about Entertainment Weekly’s article was they mentioned this past summer when an all-star cast performed The Little Mermaid basically live at the Hollywood Bowl. It was a nice remembrance of one of the best events ever.

Regardless of the reports, I will be sitting in front of the TV with my mermaid tail on October 3rd.

Your six best friends will never reunite, so stop making things up

I don’t think I have enough fingers to count the number of times I have seen a poorly photoshopped poster of the infamous couch or the special font with the year 2018 below it. Why do so many people think that Friends is going to make a comeback? I personally thought the show ended wonderfully.

Another poster started spreading around the internet about 2 weeks ago. It was time for co-creator Marta Kauffman to step and say yet again what she’s been saying since June 2016, according to Bustle.

"Nope! Never happening. I know, [rumors] happen all the time! Not happening. Not ever."

I mean, Could it be any clearer?

Both US Magazine and Bustle reported on Kauffman shutting down the rumors (hopefully for good). Though both articles are reporting on the same topic, it was interesting the angle that each story took. Bustle focused on Kauffman talking about the nostalgia that Friends has given people throughout the years. US spoke more about contracts and money agreements within the cast as well as how long the show ran for.

No matter how it’s reported, Oh. My. God. Friends is NOT coming back.

Ariel Winter can wear whatever she wants, leave her alone

This news was so big, even CNN had to get in on it. But in reality, the news isn’t big at all. Ariel Winter looked hot at an event in a gold dress. Who cares?

But apparently, everyone on twitter is concerned that she looks good. People were tweeting at Ariel saying that she is trying too hard to look slutty.

This isn’t the first time this happened though, Ariel gets hate for basically everything that she wears. But hey, she’s “got it and she isn’t afraid to flaunt it,” said USAToday.

Both CNN and USAToday give Ariel props for clapping back at her haters for degrading her.

She posted on Instagram saying, "Why TF does anyone care that I didn’t dress casual like everyone else for the panel?" she asked in the shared screenshot, captioned with just an emoji. "Why do I have to be like everyone else? Why can’t people just let other people feel good about themselves and do what they want?"

You go, girlfriend.

Article wise, both news sources reported this in the exact same way. I mean, there isn’t any bias when they say that she looks great. It is exciting to see big news sources reporting on these body positivity topics.

Christina El Moussa opens up to whether she’s hooked up with Tarek since the split

Every HGTV fan knows how tough this split was when it happened, the break-up was civil apparently.

No one really talked much about these two until they appeared together at the Daytime Emmys. That’s when the questions were asked.

Both E! News and ABC News asked Christina if she has hooked up with Tarek since they split up.

She told both news sources the same thing, “I would never go back into the ex- category.” I am right there with you sister.

As far as the articles go, ABC talks more about the incident that happened at their house right before they filed for divorce and E! talks more about how both parties are seeing different people and that they are simply friends at this time.

They are focusing on their two children and their new season of Flip or Flop. HGTV lovers unite (again)!

I’m not sure if I buy into this, but if what they say is true, good for them.

A red carpet debut

As if we didn’t know this already, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are dating. They made their red carpet debut last night at the Met Gala.

From the picture above, you can see that they could quite possibly be one of the hottest couples in Hollywood right now...or ever. Either one really.

The Met Gala has got to be one of the hottest events of the year so of course, every news source was reporting on some type of angle of it. Whether it be fashion or new couples, we journalists have got you covered.

It seems as if Buzzfeed and Elle Magazine UK wanted a little mix of both fashion and love when it comes to Selena and Abel. (If you didn’t know, that's his real name.)

Buzzfeed is always reporting a little informally, starting with their long unnecessary title, “Selena Gomez And The Weeknd Made Their Red Carpet Debut And Wow I Love Them.” Okay, I get it. We all love them.

The rest of their article was just a few pictures of them as a couple stolen from both of their Instagrams and a few from last night. Clearly showing us all that they are #RelationshipGoals. Nothing too special here.

I can’t say the article in Elle UK is any better; there were just as many pictures as Buzzfeed. BUT, Elle did focus in on what they were wearing last night. Which I appreciated, so I know where to buy Selena's dress next time I go shopping, duh.

No matter what angle the pictures were being taken last night, it is quite obvious that the adorable couple is living their best life today.

People ACTUALLY think Katy Perry and JonBenet Ramsey are the same person

It is extremely crucial that we discuss this. Obviously, many news sources had to jump on this crazy conspiracy theory.

Of the many, E! News and US Magazine had a little bit to say about it.

When I say little, E! doesn’t take that lightly.

Basically, they reported on the conspiracy because it was E! True Crime Week last week and just gave a brief synopsis off a YouTube video and the fact that JonBenet was murdered. LAME.

I read the whole article 3 times in one minute.

On the other hand, US Magazine has much more to say about the theory and idea.

They went into deep enough detail about the YouTube video that you probably wouldn’t have to watch it. They also explain the crime in more detail than E!, but nothing more was revealed that people didn’t already know.

Regardless of who wrote the article or who made the YouTube video, do YOU really believe this?

XOXO, Cancelled Girl

Recently, everyone’s favorite celebrity, Blake Lively revealed a HUGE secret (even bigger than some on the show) that would have ruined Gossip Girl forever.

The show was supposed to be filmed in Toronto with a fake New York set. WHAT? How lame is that? Every Gossip Girl fan knows that New York is extremely crucial to the show and that it is nothing you can just fake.

Lively said she wasn’t even sure they would have made it past the first episode if that happened.

Two of my favorite news sources reported on this and as expected their articles were completely different.

Buzzfeed is known for short articles and gifs, which is exactly what it was. On the other hand, The Huffington Post reported facts. They also added a few gifs to their article, I believe this was to appeal to a teen audience and compare themselves to Buzzfeed.

Gifs are MOST DEFINITELY the way to a young adult heart, right!?

Facts wise both articles kept it the same, Buzzfeed emphasizing the few facts they had to emphasize the fact that they are most definitely a reliable news source.

Thankfully, New York was made a crucial character of the show which is a big reason why the show was such a success. Here’s hoping for a reboot sometime soon, so many unanswered questions.

A Changed Man

I can’t disagree when people say that spring is a time of change and recognizing change. Someone who DEFINITELY agrees with that? Justin Bieber.

Bieber recently posted a side by side Instagram picture of him in 2014 and him in 2017 with the caption, “I LOVE THIS because it reminds me I'M NOT EXACTLY WHERE I WANT TO BE BUT THANK GOD I'M NOT WHERE I USED TO BE!! THE BEST IS YET TO COME. DO YOU BELIEVE IT?" I mean, I guess I believe it. It wasn’t too long ago you were peeing in mop buckets and yelling “F*** BILL CLINTON!”

Anyway.

A lot of news outlets had to report on this very IMPORTANT post, including E! News and Vanity Fair. Aesthetic wise, Vanity Fair has such a great a headline and dek compared to E. E’s headline was too long and a little messy.

As far as the articles go I enjoyed reading Vanity Fair’s because the writing was very similar to mine, informal and a little humorous. Though the article was longer than E’s, it kept me interested the whole time because of the humor and honesty throughout.

Moral of the stories here: Justin Bieber is different now and if you want people to know about it, be funny.

Chris Brown Punches Another Person

I mean, are we really surprised?

The person I’m talking about is Bennie L. Vines, a photographer. According to E! News, around 1:30 A.M Brown and his team assaulted Vines at a Tampa nightclub after only a few minutes of being at the club. Vines suffers from a busted lip and will take some take some type of legal action. Can you believe a photographer got beaten up…for…taking photos?

Comparing the E! article to Billboard, Billboard was not allowed to use the name of the photographer. Oops, the secret is out! Billboard also attached a video to give video evidence that it happened. Trust me, with a track record like Chris Brown (as E! reminds us of), I believe it happened.

All in all, both articles had the same information about the brawl and both basically say that Chris Brown is a terrible person.

I might be a little biased.

Coachella Lookbook

Some people say that there is nothing great about April; that it’s just one of those filler months. I beg to differ, it’s Coachella month! When people think of Coachella, they might of things like the music, the art, or the drugs. But what a lot of entertainment websites are focusing in on is the FASHION! Coachella is undeniably where boho fashion royalty thrive.

I found extremely fascinating that Buzzfeed reported on strictly celebrity outfits while The Huffington Post reported on, for lack of better words, normal people.

Some of the celebrities that Buzzfeed posted about I had never heard of, makes me think that they were scrounging for material. Who even knows if these pics were from THIS year?

On the other hand, The Huffington Post could have material for days because even though celebrities post five Coachella pictures on Instagram every day, there are still more regular people at these music festivals.

In my opinion, Regulars - 1 Celebs - 0.

Harry Styles is Harry Styles, NOT David Bowie

Let's get this out of the way first; I am a big Harry Styles fan and I have been since 2012. I am also a very big David Bowie fan and was absolutely gutted when we lost him last year. These two very talented artists should not be compared on the same spectrum in any way. Apparently, not many people agree with me.

Articles in both The Guardian and NewStatesman both give reviews of the song by sections of the lyrics and compare it to artists like David Bowie, Oasis, Radiohead, Queen, and even Lana Del Rey (WHAT?) The Guardian has the audacity to call it “David Bowie meets Queen.” NewStatesman doesn’t stop there though. They dissect the whole song and say that each verse and lyrics has a resemblance to many different artists. Verse by verse ripping away at Harry (and his team’s) creativity.

It isn’t a problem to notice similarities within songs because that’s what music is, a bunch of samples with hopes that no one would notice. In these articles though it makes it known that Harry’s song, as original as it may be, isn’t original at all. If I wasn’t that into music and articles like these, I wouldn’t have noticed.

A-ROD & J-LO

It’s official! Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are the hottest couple on the streets of Hollywood and it seems everyone wants to put their two cents in.

I decided to listen to what Buzzfeed and E! News had to say about this one.

Both sites had to say a lot of the same things; however, Buzzfeed took their focus on what Rodriguez had to says about Lopez on “The View” last week while E! News got their news from outside sources and friends of the two A-listers.

What Rodriguez had to say about Lopez was insanely adorable, why wouldn’t you want the truth straight from the source.

“It’s obvious... We’re having a great time, she’s an amazing, amazing girl, and one of the smartest human beings I’ve ever met and also an incredible mother,” said Rodriguez on “The View” when hit with the big question. I mean, how cute is that?

I also ate up the pictures that Buzzfeed posted about their relationship, like a picture of them meeting twelve years ago? So sweet, I got a cavity just from looking at it, really. E! Didn’t dig deep enough into the facts and I believe in journalism today, people love living vicariously through celebrities lives and relationships.

Keep it up the sweetness, Buzzfeed.

No surprise here: American Idol is over for good

This isn’t an April Fools joke. TMZ reported on 4/1 that “American Idol” will not be returning to television in 2018 despite the efforts made by FOX and NBC to reboot the series. The article also notes that there was a “tug of war between co-owners of the show” (TMZ). NBC didn’t want their main shows “Americas Got Talent” and “The Voice” to compete with “American Idol.” It’s understandable and a respectful decision altogether.

This article does, in fact, make this situation seem like it was a respectful one. TMZ is known for their informal articles and use of slang, but I personally believe this was one of their better articles. Using more formal terms like “conflict of interest” and “not seeing eye to eye” makes it seem like TMZ isn’t poking fun at this situation as it usually does.

I do have to say this about the article: the photo really caught my eye, and not in a good way.

Some things will never change about TMZ.
