“Eh. Don’t sweat it. I needed to get up anyway. So what brings you here?”
"Oh... then you're welcome? Where is 'here', exactly?"

“Come on, Rox, don’t be like that,” he said, sighing again. He’d been sighing a lot lately. ”I do remember being Axel. It’s just… whatever happened to make me forget Xion was pretty thorough, I guess.” Then he looked away. ”And yeah, I did. I was fifteen when I lost my heart. Maybe not an entire lifetime, but it seemed like it at the time…”
Roxas felt it best to hide the reason behind how Xion left everyone's memories. It was his fault, after all, and it made him feel terrible. The blonde choked down the concluding thought that things had to change. That was a part of life and Roxas had to accept it. After an awkward pause, Roxas changed the subject. "So, what are you gonna do now that you're out of the Organization?"

"Wow, there's a lot of you this time. I'm Roxas."

Lea let out a long sigh, folding his arms. ”Maybe not, but if we were such good friends, I shouldn’t have such a hard time remembering.” He bowed his head. ”Even though Saix and I aren’t nearly as close anymore, I still remember all those times as kids when we’d try to sneak into Ansem’s castle, and get sea-salt ice cream together.” He shook his head. ”But that’s beside the point, isn’t it?”
It made perfect sense. Axel became Lea. The Nobody became whole, therefore his memories of being in the Organization faded. Sure, he remembered Roxas and probably the others too, but there was no way he'd remember fully. If Roxas had a heart, this is where it would break, but he had to stay strong, for Axel. The boy looked up at his friend once more. "It's not beside the point. You had a life before the Organization." Roxas hung his head as the words escaped his mouth. "I just didn't want things to change..."

“Fraid so,” he said with a shrug. ”I saw her recently, and she told me all the things we used to do together, but my memory just… won’t cooperate. All I remember is you and me up on that clock tower. And I feel pretty bad about that.”
"Don't feel bad, Lea. You couldn't help it." Roxas tried his best to smile as he forced tears back. Of course he was disappointed that Lea's memory was gone, but it was to be expected. Both he and Xion knew this. The blonde Nobody just hoped that, for once, things could be normal again and go back to that clock tower sometime with both of his friends. But things were never normal, even during those peaceful moments. Roxas turned away for a moment and wiped away the tears with his arm, hoping Lea would think it was just an itch.

“Well, it depends on where you go,” Xion explained. “Some places they’re everywhere, but other places they’re hidden. Depends on the tides too. The time of day. Everything.”
"I'm gonna try and find those hidden ones!" the Nobody exclaimed, barely containing his excitement. The silly grin was stuck on the boy's face. Roxas hadn't expected Xion to know all of that. He didn't even know it himself. He felt proud, or at least he thought he did. Unable to sit still, Roxas pushed a fist into an open hand releasing nervous energy. "So, when are we goin'?"

“Yeah.. I found them. Got them home safe and sound, too..”
He lingered onto that moment for a bit longer as he looked down, not mentioning the fact that they were about to be in trouble again. Xehanort was rising with a vengeance none of them had ever witnessed, and he would bring with him another set of twelve darknesses molded completely from him. They were going to have to fight again and again… Until it was all over.
Roxas eyed his other as the brunette lowered his head. Was something wrong? Sora was normally full of life when discussing his loved ones. Something had to have been troubling him. "You make it sound like a bad thing. Everything alright?"

“Ah, right. Xion.”
“You remember her? Cause it’s pretty fuzzy for me,” he said, looking just a little sheepish.
Roxas hung his head at the memory that was never supposed to happen. Xion disappeared from existence which meant everyone would forget. Roxas, himself, was guilty of forgetting her. "Of course I remember her. It was hard at first, but I just saw her yesterday. Don't tell me you forgot it all too!"

Lea laughed at that. ”Geeze, you’re still hung up on the best friend thing, aren’t ya? Do you even have any other friends?” Then he coughed and turned away. ”Not that I can really talk.”
"Well, yeah. You and Xion will always be my best friends," he replied. Lea's questions stirred unwanted feelings. Hopefully, Lea still considered Roxas his best friend. No one else really understood Roxas like he did. "I've met some other people. They've all been pretty nice so far. I dunno if they're friends though..."

“I..haven’t been here in like..3 years” She pouted more, rubbing the back of her neck slowly.
Roxas held his arms out to comfort her, but withdrew after hesitating. He didn't mean to make her feel bad, or maybe she was just sad about being lost. Either way, the Nobody thought he should help. "Hey, let's get you back on the right path. Sound good?" He reached out a hand in assistance.

“Yeah,” he said, resisting the urge to reach over and ruffle Roxas’ hair. He really needed to stop that particular habit. ”I wouldn’t have ya any other way, so heart or not, don’t go changin’ on me, got it?”
Roxas lit up at the remark. If one person's opinion mattered, it was Axel's. Or, in this case, Lea. Of course, he wouldn't forget about Xion either. The young blonde couldn't resist smiling from ear to ear. "Thanks, best friend!" he exclaimed with a thumbs up.

“Well, I’m not sure my experience would be the same as ours,” he said with a shrug. ”I had a heart when I was younger, so it’s like it was back then. But it’s a little strange, since I’m not used to emotions anymore.”
"Sounds cool, I guess," he sighed. Roxas thought there was more to a heart, but it seemed nothing really changed. Lea said he could now feel emotions and weren't used to them, but they laughed, fought, and cried even when they were in the Organization. "I'm fine with not having one then. I like being me."

“I recognize this place..So yeah. A few times.” She replied to the boy’s question, folding her arms over her chest.
"Then how come you look so lost?" he asked with a tilt of his head.

He wasn’t sure why, but he felt relieved as Roxas threw the snowball away. He had been almost certain he would pull a Lea and toss it at him if he wasn’t looking. “Typically it can be boring in the winter.” he confessed. “Playing in the snow would be your best bet, I suppose.”
"Do people normally play in the snow? 'Cause I don't see anyone," he stated, surveying the area in which the two of them were standing. It was desolate. Only the rich scenery of the Garden in winter could be seen, heard and felt.

“Right, sorry. No more insults for Roxas.” He smiled and hooked his hands behind his head, grinning at him.
"So, Axe- I mean Lea," he muttered, wanting to get something off of his chest. "What's it like to have a heart again? I don't remember being Sora at all. Is it any different from when you were a Nobody?"
