Project info, FAQ and progress

Hello there! This is the tumblr hub for the “Everyone-Hundred project”. With the end of the Mp100 Countdown on the horizon and season three announcement, I thought now was a better time than ever to start this community project.

The nominal aim is to create a collage piece containing every character from Mob Psycho 100 (starting with the anime, with manga characters as an expansion goal). Every character. From the ubiquitous presence of Shigeo himself, to the side characters who bring such flavour to the series, and out to the bit characters who only appear briefly. 

Central to Mp100 is the theme that everyone we meet can change us - and so, this project. Not only to reflect how even the most bit-characters where important to Mp100, but also to celebrate that within our own fandom by bringing together many artists to collaborate together!

Applications - Closed pending future announcements!

This project is interest based - there’s not a formal application process or selection, it’s open to all! In order to apply as an artist, please send a DM or Ask (tumblr or twitter) to us so we can add you to our artist list.

Please note: with consideration for both the admin & other participants comfort, please do not apply if you are “proship” and/or ship things like reimob, ritmob, etc. 

Project Scope

The plan is to create, as a final piece, a canvas containing as many mp100 characters as possible. As interim pieces, smaller canvases that will be updated over time will be created. Artists are welcome to draw multiple characters for the project, but will only be able to accept one at a time.

Since there are a shocking number of major characters in Mp100, let alone bit-characters, there is likely to be more characters than there are artists! We’ll be starting with the larger members of the cast to make sure they’re covered - but otherwise if you would be interested in drawing more than one character they’ll be plenty of opportunity! This will not be a requirement though.

FAQ Below the cut

I’m a traditional artist - is this okay?

Me too! And yes, it absolutely is. However, please be sure you can provide a high quality photo or, preferably a scan of your work. Since the final piece will collage the characters, the character will need to be put onto a transparent background - if you don’t have the means to do this yourself, please let me know & I’ll get that arranged for you.

How will the piece be posted and credited?

To keep the final collage decentralised from any one artist, the final collage will be posted to this blog, with a list of collaborating artists and those who’ve helped with organisation on the post - and that’ll replace this as the pinned post. As some collaborators will be from twitter & will require external links this may affect how/if this appears in the tags - how this will be handled is being decided. 

Can I post my own piece separately?

Yes! Since the timeline of this project is currently uncertain, please feel free to post your own work whenever it’s completed. If you want us to share the work to this blog (once the project is completed) be sure to tag us so we can add it to our drafts.

I’m not sure I’ll be able to colour my art, or I want to collab with someone on one character. Is this okay?

Collaboration is definitely okay! When sending in a finished piece, make sure you credit any collaborators. If you’ve both been assigned characters, please let me know if one of them needs reassigning for your workload ASAP. 

If you cannot colour your art, please let me know ahead of time. It won’t affect your ability to participate - just how it’s handled on our end!

How will you assign characters?

Characters will be prioritised, and artists will be contacted in waves with a random, small pool of characters to pick from. It’s very important to the spirit of this project that major characters are offered fairly, however if there is a particular character you’re very interested in drawing there will be a short window to request this.

Can I change my character?

If you are uncomfortable or unhappy with the characters you’re offered for any reason, please raise this in a respectful way - I’ll do my best to accommodate. 

A note on racist or other offensive character designs

For the peace of mind of participants, this is the current approach:

Major side characters - Takeuchi will be excluded from this project, as his design is undeniably rooted in blackface. Shibata, however, will be included for the time being - though as above we will be accommodating any discomfort with drawing him. If he is left undrawn, then he’s left undrawn.

Minor/bit side characters - As these characters are unlikely to be missed, they will be excluded.

Apologies for the long silence everyone, but here’s a quite important update!

All the pieces I’ve received so far are now arranged on a canvas, and once I’ve double-checked all the credits are up-to-date and able to be linked I’ll be posting it! Here’s a tiny thumbnail preview

Since I’ve fallen behind chasing people, I’m not certain on the status of those with outstanding characters - there’s quite a few, so please don’t feel ashamed of that. To give myself time to check everyone’s credits and give people a chance to make a last-minute submission, I’ll be posting the canvas Sunday 24th April, with last submissions being accepted Friday 22nd April. 

If you miss this please don’t worry - for now I can’t promise a second canvas will be made, but if there’s interest in more people drawing the characters who are still missing then I’ll open up applications again.

Thank you again for your patience: remember you can post your individual pieces at any time and I’ll share them here once the canvas is complete.

Hello! I was wondering if last minute submissions until Friday was for people already in contact with you or if someone new could pick up a char and have the next 3 days to finish a drawing?

Either way I remember seeing when you first posted about this project so it's really cool to see how much it's grown!

Is this project still going?

Hello there! I've been meaning to update for a while since life has been hectic, but reached that point where I was putting it off out of embarrassment - so thanks for your ask!

The project is still going, in that I intend to finish compiling the work that everyone has done so far and submitted. If this causes a surge of interest or new submissions then I'll be happy to continue it - though I may at this point look for additional admins.

Apologies for the radio-silence - I haven't forgotten this project, I've just been overwhelmed and distracted lately.

If I hadn't made it clear in the past - this is not a zine or secret project, and everyone is free to post their individual work in full whenever they want. Please do so, in fact! There's been a few people who have already.

As tumblr is doing something absolutely nonsensical with tags right now, including banning the use of  “#submission”, you might have some difficulty using the submit box. I’m tweaking it to see if I can make it work right, but if you find your submission bounces then please feel free to use DMs to send your piece.

Extensions & New Assignments

Hi all! Two quick updates:

On extensions: I’m going to slowly be contacting people who I’ve not heard from yet regarding where they’re at with their character - please don’t stress though! Deadlines on this project are more casual guidelines to keep momentum/provide a date where check-ins are expected. If I’ve not been in touch and you know you need extra time, it’d be a big help if you could shoot me a DM letting me know how much extra you need as this’ll help my workload a lot :D (There’s about 50 people to chat to slkdjf). To help settle any anxiety - a lot of people are in the same boat and needed an extra time, even up to 2 weeks, it’s really no trouble.

On new assignments (i.e. “wave 2″): Since there’s a bunch of characters still open, wave 2 will be a little different than the first - I’ll be offering only one character at first as this makes it easier to let new joiners continue to trickle in. If this character is one you don’t want to draw, I can re-roll my RNGs and get you another! I’ll be sending these out ASAP with a deadline in late-Jan.

Thank you to everyone who’s sent their characters in so far - it’s really been exciting seeing them roll in! I’ll be beginning to organise a canvas with them all on this week.

Collab and visibility?

Hi all,

This is mostly to float interest and for an opportunity to object - since there are various characters who are closely linked (e.g. in the same club or gang, always together etc) there’s been some interest around getting artists in touch to collab on poses and such. Which I’d love to encourage, it’s exactly the sort of thing that projects should be about :D

Individually posting

Another brief update - there’s only a few people left who I’ve not heard back from around character picking, so it’s full steam ahead! I’ll be reopening applications tomorrow as planned to get new people on board and let people take a second character if they feel like doing so.

I’m going to slightly change one thing about this project & update the pinned info post to reflect this - there are a lot of characters who qualify for this project, so getting them all drawn and collated within a short time frame isn’t going to be feasible. But! I also don’t want anyone feeling frustrated with being unable to post the work they’ve done either.

For those who’ve already finished a character - if you want to post them publicly, please do so whenever you wish! Feel free to @ this blog too - that way we can save it in our drafts for sharing at a later date, and it’ll also help new artists find our way here.
