It’s a weird childish logic that requires people in other countries to be a monolith, while we tacitly understand ourselves (and only ourselves) to be complex. It’s “some Palestinians are homophobic, so all Palestinians are homophobic” or “some Israelis support Netanyahu, so all Israelis support Netanyahu” but never “Donald Trump was elected, so all Americans support Trump.”

If your uncle is a racist, does that mean your entire family deserves to be bombed during Thanksgiving dinner? Or is turning any group of humans into a monolith for the purpose of assigning collective responsibility maybe morally monstrous?
