HAPPY XMAS - Don’t forget you make Insolitus what it is. Thank you for being here and thank you for writing with us. We hope to see you a lot in the new year!
What is Christmas?
Christmas was like a fairytale to the young sunsprite, something he only read about in stories. Families gathered around the fire, singing carols, and sipping hot cocoa while spending time with one another. It was something he only dreamed of from his family. "No." "We don't celebrate Christmas." "You're too old for Christmas." "You just want presents, you selfish brat." Any excuse, he heard them all. He didn't even want Christmas just for the gifts. In fact, he didn't want presents at all. He just wanted to feel the familial bond he only read about, but never received. Standing in the snow, he sighed as he tightened the red scarf around his neck. The bittersweet feel of snow against his skin made him look up at the sky, only to see the Sun peek out from behind the clouds. That image made him smile. He always found the Sun to be the most comforting thing in his life. But he still wishes to celebrate Christmas, even if it was only just once.
Two more replies left and then I think I will have got to everyone. Anyone want to plot? I kind of want someone to help shed Siyoon of his goody-goody image and get into some trouble. Message me for I am bored at work.
Oshieru ❀ Siyoon & Miko
Miko didn’t exactly know what to expect when she’d first decided to apply as a teacher at Insolitus, but it certainly wasn’t what she was used to. The students and teachers got along surprisingly well, there were an alarming number of students two or three times her own age, and then there were the birds. But she wouldn’t talk about the birds, oh no. When it came to teaching, though, she’d gotten all kinds of advice from both the internet and some ghosts of teacher’s she’d talked to. She decided she wanted a more interactive kind of classroom, one where the students lead and Miko followed. The kind of class that didn’t require a textbook or some absurd amount of homework. Most kids didn’t like school, so she wanted it to be fun.
She’d been teaching for quite some time, and thought she was doing a good job of it. After she’d given the first test and sat down to grade them, there were more A’s than there were in aardvark. Of course there were a few lower scores, but that was to be expected. All save for one, though. Yoon Siyoon, one of the kids in her class that seemed a bit nerdy, if she was being honest, had ended up with a D. At first, Miko thought she made a mistake and checked the paper 4 or 5 times over, but it all seemed to be in order. He’d really ended up with a D? She frowned slightly when she realised he had the lowest grade in the class. How did that happen?
When she was passing the tests back the next day, she asked Siyoon to stay a minute late so she could talk to him. Once the bell rang, all the students cleared out, leaving Miko with Siyoon to chat. ‘Siyoon? I’d like to talk about your test score. Did something happen? Were the lessons not sinking in?’ She was so worried she wasn’t teaching the class properly that it was painfully obvious on her face.
The young sunsprite often daydreamed in his classes, not on purpose of course and certainly not because he didn't want to learn, it was just very rare that he was actually taught something he hadn't read before. Very rare in fact that even as teachers were renewed every few months or so, he hardly ever noticed anymore. He read every textbook checked out to him his first week of the Academy, memorizing them backwards and forwards. And even if teachers did pull away from the textbook, it didn't matter because the information wasn't new to him.
And unfortunately the more animated and interactive classes lost his interest fairly quickly. Two reasons really: one, no one wants to work with the kid who stutters and stays quiet (although he would like to note that he doesn't mind people not wanting to work with him, he only has issues with the reasons behind it, the main one labeling him as "stupid" for his IQ was well beyond the students in his class) and two being that he didn't want the voice in his head to act up, finding it particularly amusing to mock him as he tries to act normal.
So when the teacher actually spoke to him AND handed him a failing grade, shocked was the kind way of putting it. His eyes flashed red as they do when he gets angry or upset, but he simply nodded his head, looking over the paper that any other teacher would have given an exceptional grade.
The period seemed to last longer than usual, maybe that was because he had in his hand a failing grade. Even the imbecile English teacher, who gave him a C on his paper, yet the man himself didn't even have proper grammar, didn't fail him. His eyes had returned to their normal brown over the remainder of the class, so when he approached the teacher's desk, he just stared at her owlishly for a few moments.
Once determining that she was actually serious about whether or not he grasped the material, he felt obligated to respond, not only to keep his intelligence intact, but to put the teacher at ease (or not, he was really only concerned about his intelligence and to not be looped in with those students who couldn't understand).
"I-I understand y-you lessons. T-They just g-go against e-every book w-written on the s-subject."
…
All the sunsprite could do was stare at the other, mouth agape and eyes incredibly wide. He couldn’t be serious…could he? Sex…with him…but why? Si Yoon was nothing special, inexperienced as well. And let’s just say, his sex education extended as far as 50 Shades of Grey. And the thought of that book itself made bile fill his throat. He felt his face pale at the mention of the picture.. the picture of him naked…lost now and who knows who has probably seen it. He paled at the thought. As if he was walking in a daze, he just allowed himself to be lead away by the taller male. He blinked a few times. How was he to think about food at a time like this?! He was too concerned about the well-being of his penis to be concerned about whether or not delivery was an option? “I-I’m sure t-there are s-some places t-that d-d-deliver.”
"Okay we’ll have to look on the internet. I stole an iPad from someone yesterday, so we can use that to browse!" There was a rise in volume over his excitement of the theft. Then he was reaching blindly for a doorknob before eventually turning to look. "My new roommate is kinda weird and fancy and stuff. He’s not around a lot though, so I usually just do whatever he doesn’t want me to do when he’s not here."
The door flew open to reveal a lavishly furnished room with a single sore spot that could be contributed to the mess the half-fairy had already made of his bed. “And yeah,” he grinned, not having forgotten something revolving around the topic of getting naked, “Let’s get naked now!” With that he was shedding clothing from the moment he stepped through the doorway, landing himself buck-naked in the kitchen as he searched the fridge for a snack to hold him over until they could get food delivered.
A whirlwind of thoughts and emotions were running around through his mind. If he was a machine, steam would be coming out from all his nooks and crannies as his brain shifted into overtime. The heat from his cheeks turned his face tomato red. He was the epitome of a sunsprite stuck in an awkward boy's body.
"W-What's an iPad?" Siyoon blinked, confused at the sentence, having not read or heard of such a thing before. Subject matter having moved to something else he knew nothing about, the sunsprite felt a migraine come on, as well as a bout of frustration. He did not like being out of the loop.
His mouth dropped open at the sight of the fairy naked because well, he was naked. Full fledged naked. And the sight was unsettling. He really didn't understand why someone like Sungyeol would want to see him naked, again for that matter, or would want to sleep with him in the first place. He wasn't anyone special. If anything, he was plain and unappealing. He awkwardly stood just outside the kitchen, throat dry and fingers playing with the hem of his shirt, at a complete loss of how to move forward.
Fire & Fire? || Siyoon & Kai
After an unsettling day at the library, the rare occasion of not finding any books pique his interest, the sunsprite left the vast array of books in a grumbling fashion. His /born with/ sunshine like demeanor was overcast, dark clouds hanging over his head as he suffered one of his rare dark and sour moods. All he needed was /one/ not even good, but /decent/ book to avoid this dire outcome. He wasn't particularly fond of his mood swings, making him feel a bit bipolar as disassociated with the world around him. Grumbling "curses" (the extent of his cursing ability was simply "hell") down the path from the library, he kicked a rock as his brown eyes kept their gaze on the rolling gray pebble. The sound of the clattering rock in the dead silence was oddly soothing to the sunsprite in his dark mood, a feint comparison to the sound of shattering glass when hit with a fist ringing through his mind. At least that is what he would have assumed it to sound like in his thoughts as he read passages containing that sort of thing. Snow had been trickling down from the gray sky, unimpressed by it unlike most. Siyoon had grown accustomed to the snow, none of the memories a pleasant one. The only perk of being sunsprite being that he wouldn't freeze to death in the weather...much to the dismay of others. The white flecks landed in his midnight black hair, a pale hand running through the damp locks as he continued to pave slowly back to his dorm. He would compare the scenery of white fluff coating everything to that of a beautiful nightmare. It was pretty to look at, but if you stayed for too long, well....lets just say 48 hours in the snow isn't exactly a dream to most people. Lost in his own thoughts, the sunsprite nearly missed the scene in front of him. He had to blink a few times to even register what was going on. In front of him, a few hundred yards away, was a boy whose head was...on fire? Surely that couldn't be natural...or safe. Should he call someone? Why didn't the other stick his head in the ground like an ostrich?! Surely the snow would put out the fire! The sunsprite felt his skin paling, knowing the longer he contemplated on what he should do, he really wasn't doing anything at all. He awkwardly ran, more like waddled, to the other, realizing the other wasn't in pain, his sentence came out more like a question than that of concern. "E-Excuse m-m-me. B-but your h-hair is on...f-f-fire?" ( kaichan-ia )

Things have been great since the very beginning of my experience with this muse — something I, for sure, wasn’t expecting to happen. I’ve been lucky enough to roleplay with amazing people and make a few close ooc friends. And I am always willing to make some more.
Shiyoon was completely AU when I first started, but I can’t say I’m not enjoying roleplaying him as he is now. Things have changed, and I do believe those changes were for the best. Though recent events have made me wonder if I would lose the feel for this muse, if I would start thinking about actually dropping him since I’ll soon get busier with studies and work, yet I simply couldn’t abandon him nor the people I’ve met in here. I’m putting some effort on sticking around and I’m quite hopeful I’ll be here for more than a year.
But in the short time I’ve been here, a lot of people left. Many were dear roleplaying partners to me, and to most of them, I was never able to express my gratitude or tell them how much I admired their writing/character, which is something I will always regret. Making someone’s day doesn’t cost much but due to my shyness, at the time I couldn’t even move an inch. So I’ve decided to come up with this, in hope my thoughts would reach you guys. (please excuse the christmas hat)
Here are some of the lovely people I admire/enjoy interacting with/watch from a distance because my muse is stuck with a terribly shy typist:

Oh my. I feel honored to be admired from a distance. But don't be a stranger!
" I’m so jealous of every one who can start a conversation, I can’t even say " Hi". I just become a paranoid, I start thinking everyone hates me, I just feel like I’m not meant to have friends. I just hate this feeling. "
☾
☾ : On a sleepless night, what would they be found doing?
The lights in his dorm room would be on, the fire in the fireplace running for a good few hours as he sits on the floor near his bookcase. A blanket would be draped over his lap as he was surrounded by a circle of books, some which he had already read and some he would read after his nose was out of the pages of the book he clutched in his hands. A cup of chamomile tea would be getting cold on the coffee table as he forgot it was even there, lost in his own little world as the words from the page he was reading would flood his imagination with pictures. He would be up until he felt the sun peeking in through his blinds and casting shadows on the floor.
