I’m ready to be transformed by the ibuprofen . I’m ready to be born again in its purifying light.
black friday is stupid why isn't there like. purple tuesday
WRONG BLOG
not my circus not my monkeys but thanks to my mutuals i know some of the lore
When you try to talk about enshittification, it sounds like conspiracy theories. (I'm not crazy)
Amazon made their service worse, to force people to pay for Prime.
Nowadays, if you order from Amazon, there is a week long delay before your package is shipped. (on purpose)
I remember when orders would ship out the same day. (I remember - it was real)
YouTube didn't used to have ads. Now, ads play in the middle of videos. (it's worse than TV ever was)
The best can opener I have owned is over 40 years old. Modern ones just don't hold up as well. (The ones I bought new broke ages ago)
The bread machine my mom got for her wedding lasted 30 years. It's been replaced twice in the last 5 years. (How can you fuck this up?)
The cardboard tubes in the middle of toilet paper rolls have gotten larger. (This too?) Companies increasing the price of the product while selling you less. (REALLY?)
It sounds crazy. (it's the truth) When you talk about it, YOU sound crazy. (it's true)
Even when people believe you (do they really), all they can say is "it sucks". (it's too big) Because the problem is so big, so pervasive, what can we even DO about it???
To get the necessary laws written and passed, we need politicians, to get the politicians elected we need information campaigns, to fund campaigns we need money, and all the money is being hoarded by the people profiting from enshittification. (it sounds so fake)
So I talk about enshittification (it sounds crazy), so people don't forget that things have been made worse on purpose (it's true), even though I sound crazy. (maybe I am)
We also need more people willing to fucking vote.
A community that was built off of discriminating against, suppressing, and advocating for the de-medicalization of a severe trauma disorder will never be a safe space for those with that disorder. It will fall back on its old patterns of ostracizing, suppressing, and spreading misinformation. We have seen it time and time again and it will continue to happen.
I don’t care that it’s “in the past,” (No community growth has occurred nor has any attempt been made to rectify the damage done)
I don’t care that “sysmeds are mean/scary/exclusionists” (We have every right to be a little mean)
I don’t care about “plural solidarity” (I will not stand for a group that grew out of a hate movement)
Being pro-endo when you have a cdd is shooting yourself in the foot.
Hey here is your friendly reminder to not tell your nice boss stuff.
I’m at the executive management level for my very small company and I have 4 people who report directly to me. I am a nice boss. I’m friendly with my employees, I treat them like professional adults, I actively try to create a positive work environment, and I mentor them and make sure they’re advancing in their careers. I do my best to shield them from the rest of management doing stupid shit. My employees like working for me.
The other day one of my employees came to ask if she could change her hours on Mondays. I said yes immediately because it’s helpful for me to know when she’s here and when she’s not, but as long as she gets her work done I don’t care when and where she does it. She then proceeded to tell me that it was so she could attend therapy and like … I will never use this information but … as a general rule don’t fucking do that.
Do not tell your employer shit about your mental or physical health except for the bare minimum needed to request a reasonable accommodation. Even your nice boss can fire you, even your nice boss can unfairly change your working conditions, and even your nice boss at some point is probably going to face pressure from their superiors.
I’m not saying don’t trust your boss with anything ever. I’m just saying that anytime you are in the workplace you need to keep your private information private. You can still have a good relationship with your boss. Your workplace can still be pleasant. But if it ever feels like disclosing private information is required in order to have a good relationship with your boss, please see that as a red flag.
This post got a like out of nowhere and I only vaguely remember writing it and I’m not entirely sure which of my employees inspired it, but it still holds.
person who at first glance looks like a normal man named rick but you come to find out that they're nonbinary as fuck and their name is maverick. person who at first glance looks like a normal woman named lucy but you come to find out that they're nonbinary as fuck and their name is lucidity
Dead wife montage but it's all slow motion shots of your dead wife throwing grenades and doing backflips and oneshotting the enemy with their long range weapons
you have to love trans women more than you hate transmisogyny, you have to love jews more than you hate antisemitism, you have to love Black people more than you hate white supremacy, you have to love Indigenous people more than you hate colonialism, you have to love the disabled and mentally ill more than you hate ableism, you have to love. you have to love.
you have to love the environment more than you hate the corporations, you have to love animals more than you hate industries, you have to love your neighbors- human, animal, plant, fungi- more than you hate the government.
now i don’t know enough about omegaverse to say anything definitively but from what i have seen it certainly looks like it emulates insects much more than wolves.
like if you’re looking for an animal with strictly defined castes and extensive use of pheromones you are looking for ants i think
possible career paths for me:
1. matching pearls in pairs for earrings
2. msn butterfly
that's it probably
lububus should come with a webkinz style code for labubu world. and you should be allowed to do cocaine in labubu world
me noticing this had 900 notes: oh my god, labubu world blew up
my girlfriend, screaming across the house: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I hate ethics because what the hell is this.
Real slide in my real college level ethics class
I- what the fuck
How is this even a question. This is not troles problem level shit, this is just "will you save a child for 0 consequences or are you an asshole"
Because I see enough people saying this and being confused: that is, in fact, the point.
This slide is meant to be an extreme example to demonstrate where act utilitarianism falls apart. Act utilitarianism is ultimately measuring how much a given single act increases happiness/reduces suffering, and saying that the most ethical choice you can make for that action is the one where that increase/reduction is the highest. It's often used as a "man ethics is easy I got this shit solved, we don't have to talk about this"
So if, to assign an arbitrary number for the sake of example, saving a drowning child is a +100,000 Happiness Units, but giving a bunny a slight feeling of happiness is only +1, then of course you save the child. But if you're giving slight happiness to 100,001 bunnies, that brings more happiness than saving the child, and act utilitarianism says you should let the kid drown. Any evil can be the ethical choice given sufficient numbers of mildly pleased bunnies. This is, obviously, kinda insane. It's an example to show that while this kind of utilitarianism can work in most scenarios (the typical trolley problem, for example), there are times where it doesn't work, so it cannot function as a universal system of ethics.
oh I get it
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
This is actually what I was adviced to do at the work rehabilitation program I went to. Hasn't left my mind since. 10/10 solid advice
this is probably my favorite tiktok of all time and I finally got around to showing it to my dad the other day and now he comes home every day and tells me about all the places he saw crumbling concrete and says "guess they didn't add enough chinchilla flakes"
My dad has worked in construction is whole life, primarily with a company that does concrete foundations, and I immediately sent him this back when I first found it on TikTok, and he IMMEDIATELY shared it with everyone he worked with. They apparently still quote it on his job sites to this day.
