Newly discovered prerelease footage of Super Mario 64 shows that underwater chests used to have an extremely large activation radius earlier in development, being able to be opened by swimming past them rather than touching them, which would have even worked from behind.
In the finished version, the hitbox Mario needs to touch to open a treasure chest is much smaller and near the front of it so in practice he has to swim all the way to its lock and physically touch it. While the hitboxes in the final game may be difficult to activate due to their precision, it is likely the ones in the early version simply offered very little challenge and were changed for that reason.

SWPC forecasts strong G3 geomagnetic storms for June 4th & 5th, due to 3 intersecting CMEs headed towards Earth. The CMEs don't appear to be particularly strong individually, but we've seen over the past few geomagnetic storms that interacting CMEs can amplify each other exponentially. Looking at the forecast models myself, the earliest possible impact time will probably be at 24 hours from now, and most likely later than that. SWPC should release a more precise 3-hourly forecast later today.
The next two nights will have a short window of moonless dark skies at the very beginning of the night, before the bright waning gibbous moon lights up the sky. There is a chance for aurora at mid-latitudes, but the window of opportunity will probably be pretty small for most people.
