“immodest,” chu wanning comments, glaring in the direction of the noise. the people in this area engaged in their primal pleasures, unable to hold themselves in and act with modesty. chin angled high, a scoff escapes. “let us go,” he says sternly, annoyed at his surrounding, not his company. he has already head off in the opposite direction, unwilling to see the source of the noise, even if that direction is the right way. he glances back once, expecting the other to follow and lead the way.
it’s only after his temper cooled that he finally lowered his posture, letting out a deep breath, and refocusing his attention on the person behind him. they wore colorful clothes similar to his own. a cultivator, maybe, also lost in this world with him. but he leaves that path unexplored. instead, he looks at the street, another corner that looks the same as the place they were before. coldly, he asked, “where are we?” he stops charging ahead, stopping to figure out where they should be going from the person who offered.
he sighs. “i want to head back to my room,” he says, a frown on his face, tired, grouchy, annoyed after this day. “it’s in the golden ward.” phoenix eyes lowered, but he presses his company, unable to not be unpleasant. “didn’t you say you would help?”
“Wait, what do you—” The question of what exactly his company meant in his comment was briskly answered for Nie Huaisang, as another wanton noise pierced the quiet air surrounding them. Oh. So that’s what the noise was... Nie Huaisang silently opened his fan, disdain coloring his features as he realized his mistake. Well, it wasn’t anything dangerous, technically, but immortals above, couldn’t they have found somewhere else to—
The interjection of the other man brought Nie Huaisang to the realization that he was no longer sticking around, leaving him to sheepishly respond, “Oh, r-right!” Quickly, he followed along, though... wasn’t Huaisang supposed to be the one leading the charge? The confidence in the man’s gait left Huaisang curious if he, perhaps, knew a portion of his way home, only to realize his mistake in assuming so when the lost man asked aloud where exactly they were...
Strangely, it seemed the man was vexed enough to have left in one random direction, only to just now give Nie Huaisang the location he was seeking to go. Along with a little bit of sass, which he was no stranger to—instead, Huaisang smiled apologetically, hoping to placate the other man. “Ah, yes I did! Don’t worry, I-I’m sure we could still find our way to the Golden Ward! Now, let’s see...”
...He had no clue why the other man chose to walk this direction in particular, but now Huaisang was uncertain where this was. “...Huh.” The only solution he could think of was to go back—he knew there were public transport methods the way he was going, but then again... “Ah, um, going back... that isn’t an option, is it?”
