Beautiful afternoon rainbow!
âLet your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in Heaven.â Matthew 5:16
Today I went into my classroom for the first time since March. It was hard to see my classroom so empty but I am thankful that I have been able to stay in touch with so many of my students. Change is never easy and this pandemic has caused a lot of sadness for many people. I am trying my best to start seeing the opportunities that are also being created. I believe with the right mindset, this situation can bring communities closer together. I hope when everyone returns to school, whenever that may be, that we cherish every single moment we have. I know I canât wait for the day where I can hug every single one of my former and future students!
Introduction
Hello! My name is Jamie and I am a Christian, newlywed, teacher and farm owner. Â I previously had a website for all the things happening in my education and farm world, but then became too busy to keep up with it. Â I am excited to start a new blog as a totally new time in my life unfolds. So here is a little bit more about me.
I currently teach second grade in North Carolina. Â I also teach students online through VIPKid. Â I have recently trained in Tinkergarten and am waiting until the Covid pandemic gets better before started my first outdoor class. As you can probably tell, a huge part of my life is education. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was probably in Kindergarten. Â I love all of the different opportunities that are out there for helping students learn.
Outside of the professional world, my husband and I own a small farm with cows, goats, chickens and a miniature donkey. Â Every summer we also grow a big garden. Â It is fun each year to learn something new to can or cook with the vegetables we harvest.Â
For fun, I love to cook, find a good bargain while shopping and decorate our home. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with family, friends and God. Â Being a Christian is a huge part of my life and following Jesus brings me so much joy everyday. Â
Through this blog, I plan to discuss my life as Christian, teacher and farm wife. I hope you enjoy learning about my journey as I work to âFarm up Wisdom.âÂ
