IN CHARACTER INFORMATION:
The Festival Guard is an unknown group lead by an unknown person. This elite individual was one of the creators of The Festival. He or she has more money than anyone knows what to do with and more power in the music business than anyone can imagine. This individual has put time, money, and maybe even some blood into creating The Festival and making sure it goes off without a hitch.
As Festivals passed, however, this individual noticed that things just didn’t go quite right. There was always a drunken scandal or a fight to break up or an overdose to be had. Sometimes pasts would come into play and there was always some force causing Festival attendees to bring out the worst in each other and themselves.
That’s when this individual sat down and devised a plan to make sure that The Festival wouldn’t go down in flames. Like a King’s guard, certain Festival goers were picked to be the eyes and ears. Some were chosen for their courage and some were chosen for their pride. Some were chosen for their ability to throw a punch and some were chosen because of their stubbornness to take a punch.
The job of The Guard is to keep an eye and ear out for information when The Festival is not in play. They are not rats or tattlers, but more confidants and friends to The Festival. Before each Festival, they report back to the leader to tell him of who needs help and who needs to be punished and why. The leader will then select 7 members of The Festival and give each a task to help or hinder his or her life. Sometimes the tasks may even have rewards or punishments.
They may be called in during The Festival to stop (or start) a fight or help (or hurt) an individual in need. They are the protectors of The Festival, even if they may be given a task themselves. Though people whisper about The Guard, no one has ever knowingly met one.
So keep your phone handy because the next start of Festival, you might be receiving a text message from The Festival Guard.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION:
The Festival Guard is comprised of characters on the site. They are not to discuss being in the Guard and will be kicked out if anyone discovers their identity. They do not know who the other members in the Guard are either. The lead individual is not a character on the site.
The Guard will report information at the beginning of each Festival and the mods will decide who to give tasks to. The Guard, however, is not safe from a task. Tasks can help or hurt characters, depending on their secrets and what they have been up to. For example, a cheater could be punished somehow and someone sick could be given better health care.
Each Festival only 7 characters will receive tasks on the fist day of The Festival. We will do our best to keep things fair and not favor one character or writer by giving a task repeatedly. When you receive a task, you will be asked to tag anything involving the task, including private posts, with #CITA.Guard. At the end of the task, we ask that you write a short selfpara/journal entry in your sideblog about The Festival and how the task helped/hurt you.
Tasks may be harsh, but we will keep triggers and such in mind. We will always ask you if you are comfortable with some large plot changing task such as an injury. Also, we will ask you if you are okay with things such as kidnapping your character’s child. These things may be threatened, but we will never godmod them happening without your permission to do so.
