Summary: Jayce doesn't even know what he's in the mood for. Luckily, Viktor has an idea.
Author's note: This is my first official post, both in the tickle community and the Arcane community on Tumblr, so please be kind. I decided to start out with my favorite blorbos, Jayce Talis and Viktor! They are most definitely OOC. I regret nothing.
What was this mood, was the question? Well, Jayce wasn’t sure either. That one saying, “you know yourself,” never seemed to apply to him. This was a problem, because now that HexTech was finally getting off the ground, Jayce was spending all of his time around someone who was able to read him like an open book. Just last week, Jayce had been in desperate need of a hug, but he hadn’t even realized until Viktor, tired of his fidgeting, was wrapping him up in a bear hug (the best kind of hug, in Jayce’s opinion).
So that was where Jayce was at, mentally. He and Viktor were on their second all-nighter in a row, trying to figure out a viable way to make HexTech-powered vehicles. They were hoping that if they kept this project on the down-low, they might bee able to distribute them directly to the undercity when they were completed. Unfortunately, they’d hit a roadblock in their research. And now, after two all-nighters in a row, Jayce was in a mood.
He was trying his hardest not to sigh or fidget too much. He didn’t want to irritate Viktor, after all. But something weird was going on in Jayce’s head, especially when he caught sight of Viktor’s hands in the corner of his eye. Every time it happened, it took even more of an effort to drag his attention back to the equations in front of him. This time, Jayce put so much effort into focusing on the equations that he didn’t even realize Viktor was coming up behind him.
Jayce would spend the rest of his life denying that he had yipped like a puppy when Viktor poked him in the side. He jerked around to look at Viktor with wide eyes.
“Sorry, Viktor. Were you calling me?” he asked breathlessly (and why the fuck was he breathless?).
Viktor gave a small smile, and the way his golden eyes scanned him made Jayce feel so small, that shouldn’t be allowed.
“It’s quite alright, Jayce,” Viktor replied. “I was calling you, but I find myself curious about something else, now.”
There was a spark of mischief in Viktor’s eyes as he somehow managed to loom over Jayce where he was sitting in his desk chair.
“Indeed, yes. That was an… interesting sound you just made, no?”
Jayce flushed. “Y-you just surprised me, that’s all. I didn’t hear you coming.”
“You must have been very focused on your work, then,” Viktor said, smirking as if he knew that the exact opposite was true. Jayce nearly choked on his own tongue before he was able to gather himself to reply.
“I was trying to, anyway.”
Viktor didn’t miss a beat. “Trying, hm? Are you implying that something has you distracted, Jayce?”
Jayce could only guess what his face looked like. “Um… well, yes, but…”
Viktor’s mischievous expression softened as Jayce struggled to get the words out. “But what, Jayce?”
Jayce struggled with himself for a moment before he finally burst out, “I don’t even know what’s wrong with me!”
“Aw, you poor thing.” What should have sounded condescending as hell sounded genuine from Viktor, and when he lifted a hand to card his fingers through Jayce’s hair, Jayce was helpless to lean into the contact. When Viktor started speaking again, Jayce had to force his eyes open – when had they even closed – to look up at him.
“I have an idea, Jayce,” he said – and Jayce couldn’t stop the thrill that went through him then, because he loved when Viktor had ideas – “and I want you to know that it will stop the moment you are uncomfortable, but I need you to tell me. With words. Do you understand, Jayce?”
Jayce, who quite liked the direction things were going, nodded. A split-second later, remembering what Viktor said about words, he said, “yes, Viktor.”
Viktor smiled at him warmly. “Very good, Jayce. Thank you for using your words.” He hummed in satisfaction when Jayce couldn’t stop himself from squirming at the praise. “Come along, then; I want us in a more comfortable spot for this.”
With that, Jayce let himself be led over to the couch he had insisted they get for the lab. He also lets himself get pushed down by the shoulders to sit down. Honestly, it was as if there’d been a shift, as if Viktor was the blacksmith, and Jayce was the metal that became malleable under his hands.
After a moment of observation – for what, Jayce didn’t know – Viktor sat down next to him and maneuvered them so that Jayce’s head was in his lap and his legs were dangling off the arm of the couch.
“Alright, Jayce, we’re nearly ready. Just lift your arms now, keep them behind your head – that’s right, just like that. You’re doing so well, Jayce. Now tell me one more time, what must you do?”
“T-tell you if I’m uncomfortable,” Jayce stammered, blushing without really understanding why.
“Good boy,” Viktor practically purred, and before Jayce knew what was happening, Viktor’s hands were on him.
Jayce squealed, his back arching off the couch as Viktor skittered his fingers along his neck. “Vihihihiktohohor!”
“You know, it was quite interesting,” Viktor said conversationally, as if he weren’t tickling Jayce to pieces already. “You probably didn’t even realize how your eyes lit up when I poked you earlier.”
“But – but – EEEheheheheehe!” Jayce could barely speak as one hand continued tickling his neck and the other started creeping down to his armpit. “Nohohohoho, Viktor!”
“I must say, you’re even more ticklish than I had imagined,” Viktor said. “Although, I suppose I should have expected it, with the way you yipped like a puppy earlier.”
Jayce couldn’t help but let out a whine between the laughter at that, face burning hotter than ever as he tried to hide it in Viktor’s stomach. Unfortunately – or perhaps fortunately, Jayce couldn’t make up his mind – Viktor picked up on that reaction.
“Oh Jayce, do you like being called a puppy?”
The idea sent a wave of heat through Jayce’s body, but he was too embarrassed to admit it. Still, he didn’t want to lie to Viktor, so he just kept hiding his face and laughed a bit harder when Viktor’s hand finally dug into his armpit.
“Oh, you do, don’t you, Jayce? You like it when I call you puppy and pet you like one, and you love that it tickles so much.”
Jayce let out another whine, louder than the first. Seriously, Jayce hadn’t even realized he liked this an hour ago. How did Viktor know?
“Well, puppy, I think I can arrange for some more of that,” Viktor purred (and who gave him the right to make Jayce melt into a puddle simply by speaking to him? It was very inconsiderate of them). “I think that the puppy could use some belly rubs.”
Before Jayce could even think to protest – not that he wanted to – Viktor’s hands had left his neck and armpits, lifted his shirt, and touched down on Jayce’s belly. Nothing Jayce could have done would have prevented the shriek he let out when Viktor’s hands started scittering across his belly.
“NOnonononono, Vihihihihihktor!” It took all of Jayce’s willpower not to bring his hands down to protect his belly. As it was, he was squirming so much it was a miracle he hadn’t fallen out of Viktor’s lap yet.
“Aw, does the puppy have a ticklish tummy?” Viktor crooned, and why did that make Jayce feel even more ticklish, what the hell.
Even when he could barely think anything other than it tickles, it tickles, oh gods it tickles so fucking much, Jayce couldn’t help being hyper aware of every bit of contact between him and Viktor. He could feel the warmth of Viktor’s stomach against his face through the fabric of his vest and shirt. Viktor’s thighs were soft under his head. Most of all, Viktor’s hands were cold as they scribbled across the softness of Jayce’s belly.
“You really are so ticklish, Jayce,” Viktor said thoughtfully as he formed a claw with his hand and clawed into Jayce’s belly. “I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting it, but at the same time, I’m not surprised. You seem like someone who’d like being tickled.”
The squeal Jayce let out then was only because of the way Viktor was clawing into his belly, and had nothing to do with the way Viktor was teasing him while talking as if they were discussing their work over a cup of coffee. Nope, the teasing had absolutely no affect on Jayce, no siree. He was just having a proportional reaction to the way Viktor was attacking his belly and was not freaking out about how easily Viktor figured out that he liked being tickled. For the record.
“Listen to yourself, Jayce,” Viktor cooed. “Laughing this much over some tummy tickles. Surely this isn’t that bad?”
“It ihihihihs!” Jayce yelped through his laughter. “Ihihit is that bahahahahahd! Vihihihihiktohohor!”
“Hm, so it is, is it?” Viktor hummed. “Does that mean I should stop?”
Jayce’s blush wasn’t just covering his face at this point; it had spread to his ears, neck, and even his shoulders. Why? Because the more he thought about it, as much as he could really think of anything in this state, the more he realized that he didn’t want Viktor to stop. Viktor was right, as he always was. Though Jayce hadn’t even known it when the day began (or was it ended? The passage of time was weird), he really loved being tickled. Especially since it was Viktor doing it.
Eventually, Jayce managed to push down his embarrassment and force the words from his throat in between his laughter. “Dohohohn’t stohohohohop!”
Viktor hummed again, as if considering. “As you wish,” he said softly. Then, somehow, everything became even more ticklish.
One of Viktor’s hand continued scittering across the expanse of Jayce’s belly, as if that wasn’t bad enough. However, when his other hand dipped a finger into Jayce’s belly button, Jayce practically ascended into another plane of ticklish existence.
“EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!” Jayce squealed, his back arching off of the couch. Seriously, that had no right to tickle that much.
“Oh my,” Viktor said, and Jayce could hear him smiling – “ that is quite the tickle spot, isn’t it?”
Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up –
“I might have to just keep tickling you there for a while, Jayce ~” and how was Viktor able to do that with his voice –
Jayce couldn’t have stopped the whine that left his throat even if he wasn’t laughing his ass off with his head in Viktor’s lap. I really am pathetic, aren’t I?
The tickling in his belly button was so intense that Jayce didn’t even notice that Viktor wasn’t tickling the rest of his belly with his other hand. Not until he felt his cheek being poked.
“Stop hiding, Jayce,” Viktor purred. “I want to see your smile.”
Jayce let out a whimper between his laughs even as he did what Viktor asked. Letting Viktor see his face… When he was this vulnerable… And yet, he was helpless to do anything other than follow Viktor’s instructions.
Right as he made eye contact with his partner, Viktor did this thing – like his finger was a corkscrew, rotating inside his belly button and scratching at all the spots inside that made Jayce scream.
“There it is,” Viktor said, a smug little grin on his face. “You look so happy. It’s adorable.”
Jayce let out another whimper. Between the teasing and how ticklish he was, not to mention how easily Viktor exploited said ticklishness, Jayce was about to lose his gods damned mind. And if he was being honest with himself, which he wasn’t, Jayce didn’t really have a problem with this.
That didn’t stop him from squirming like a worm on a hook as Viktor kept tickling his belly button, though.
“VIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIKTOOOOOR!” He squealed, unable to handle the corkscrew thing Viktor was doing. “NOHOHOHOHOHOH!” Somehow, it was all made even worse when Viktor reached over to the coffee table to grab a quill and used it to tickle the areas of his belly that were left un-tickled as Viktor teased his belly button. Seriously, who gave feathers permission to be that ticklish? And when Viktor snuck the tip of the feather into Jayce’s belly button along with his finger, Jayce finally broke and yanked his arms down to protect himself.
Viktor stopped and tutted at him. “Jayce, have you been getting uncomfortable and not telling me?”
Jayce swallowed. “N-no. I haven’t been getting uncomfortable. And if I was, I would have told you.”
“Hm,” Viktor hummed. “Then why did you bring your arms down? Didn’t you say earlier that you didn’t want me to stop?”
“Y-you’re right,” Jayce stammered. “I didn’t – don’t, want you to stop, I didn’t mean to bring my arms down, it just – ” For a moment, Jayce couldn’t make himself finish the sentence. Unfortunately, Viktor wouldn’t let him off the hook so easily.
“It – It, it tickled, Viktor. It tickled so much.”
“I see,” Viktor replied, as if they were talking about the results of a HexTech experiment. “Did you not like it?”
Oh, he’s being cruel, Jayce thought. He buried his face in his hands, and it took the will power of a thousand men for Jayce to say what he did next. Even then, it only came out as a mumble.
“Come now, Jayce, you know I can’t understand what you say when you cover your face like that. Move your hands, come on, you can do it.”
Jayce didn’t feel like he could do it, but Viktor was being so gentle. Eventually, he was able to uncover his face and look his partner in the eye.
“There you are,” Viktor said fondly. “Now, tell me. What did you say, Jayce?”
“It’s okay, take your time.”
Jayce let out a whine at how patient Viktor was being with him. Finally, he was able to force the words out of his throat once more.
Viktor smiled at him again, and somehow it was more intense than any smile Jayce had seen since the beginning of this encounter.
“Thank you for being honest with me, Jayce. You’re so shy, I know it wasn’t easy for you.”
Jayce let out a meep and buried his face back into Viktor’s stomach. He’s right, but he doesn’t have to say it!
Before Jayce could respond to such allegations and accusations of being cute, Viktor was dipping the tip of the quill back into his navel, causing him to squeal again. This was just unfair.
“Well, since you love it, it only makes sense for me to just… keep tickling you, doesn’t it?”
Just like that, Jayce knew. He’d never have a moment’s peace in the lab again.
And as he giggled under Viktor’s ticklish ministrations, he couldn’t find it in himself to be upset about it.
