Juat watched Spider-Man Brand New Day, and it's pretty good.

They managed to introduce a "new" character to the narrative without it hijacking the movie, which they have failed to do in previous Marvel movies, so that was pleasantly surprising.

Some nice parallels to past Spider-Man movies as well, which were very thoughtful.

That being said:

I have a few gripes with the movie, mainly how little they explored the "being more spider than man" bit, which i found really interesting.

Also, for some reason, Frank Castle seemed just a bit out of character? I can't quite put my finger on what exactly about the characterization put me off, but it's there.

And lastly, the CGI was just atrocious in some scenes, it genuinely took me out.

BUT, very enjoyable movie nonetheless.

a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
