How to make money without using the Coli, an addendum by a different Dragon Capitalist
Iāve been using the Coli extensively for ages, and yeah, most of my profit comes from there, but hereās a trick Iāve been using for a while now that anyone can use, even if youāre on mobile or have wrist issues. No Coli, no sniping, just the patience to wait 5 days for your profit to start rolling in.
All that is required: some free lair space, some gems to start out (just buy some on the forums, it will pay off very quickly). Letās assume you have a full free page of lair space. If you donāt, consider looking at your Flightās forums to see if there isnāt a lair expansion fund floating about.
Buy three cheapest GEM hatchlings every day. Why gems? Because hatchlings get routinely sold for 4 gems, but they rarely go below 3900t. 4 gems = 4*750 = 3000. Yeah, you can snipe treasure hatchlings that cheap sometimes, but 4g hatchies just turn up more reliably, imo. And 5g dragons are available at all times aside from dom battles.
After five days, youāll have your first three adults. Toss them on the AH for 7k, theyāll sell. Buy three more hatchlings. Repeat tomorrow with the dragons you bought on day 2 now grown up, and so on.
Thatās 12k of profit a day. 84k a week. And during dom battles, when fodder prices go up, it will be more. Sometimes your dragons will get daily bonuses, too. So 84k is basically the lowest profit you can make.
(and even if you only have 5 free spaces, and buy one dragon a day, thatās still 4*7 =28k a week.)
And if you donāt Coli, chances are you donāt have much food, so: pick hatchlings that either eat Plants (much cheaper than other types), or - like I do - straight-up check which type of food your dragons can go without. I have only a couple Faes, so I let my Insect stores deplete, and buy Fae hatchlings every day - when they grow up, their hunger bar is about half empty, but itās still enough for them to be trained. I just convert about 60 pts worth of insects and feed my own Faes every couple days (dragons get fed according to age, from eldest to youngest, Iām pretty sure, so freshly-bought babies wonāt steal your food). That method can put you below 80% clan happiness if you have few permadragons, though, so maybe just buy Tundras and other plant-eaters if youāre worried about that.
and, obviously, the bigger your lair, the more hatchlings you can buy, and the more your earn; I have a fully-expanded lair and buy at least 15 hatchlings a day, and, my dudes, I sleep on treasure. If you decide this method of earning is convenient for you, use it to save up for lair expansions, every 5 spaces are an extra 28k a week.
