#inktober #inktober2018 I won’t be able to participate in inktober every day since October is a busy month. But I decided to make a couple of them just to indulge myself. I love playing around with ink and I rarely have the opportunity to do so. So I’m super happy to have a reason to just play around and see how far I’ll go. I always start with a self portrait. I started this October by being sick so I guess I’m the “Poison” on the official prompt list. I’m finally doing it, I’m starting a webcomic in English. It premieres in just about a week and I’m trying hard to not describe it since I’m trying a let-the-work-speak approach. So here’s a trailer! And I’ll see you all at June 5th on www.quiet-crowd.com

School assignment! I’m currently attending a course in Image and storytelling at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg. One of the assignments we got was to make a comic about a chosen childhood memory of a classmate. We were instructed to make it into something new and make the comic in dialogue with another comic artist. So I choose Inio Asano, since I’ve always wanted to try out his technique with backgrounds and shadows. There’s a Manben-episode with him if you want to learn more. And I recommend his work Solanin, Goodnight Punpun and Nijigahara Holograph. I had a lot of fun trying this out. I may not be able to work in such a big format and with so much photography, since it would be too time consuming. But I learned a lot! Translation of my comic: Page 1 “I never dared to actually WATCH scary movies. But every time we went to the video stores, I couldn’t help reading the backs of the covers” Page 2 “A chilling thriller about a devilish murderer who’s soul inhabits a innocent looking doll. A mother and her son is caught up in a wave of terror and murders” - Mom, I can’t do it! You have to put her away!! - But... it’s just a doll Page 3 - I’m telling you I’m scared!! - Honey...! “My doll didn’t even look like Chucky. It didn’t matter at all” “There’s something with the eyes. The human part in a non-human face” “Even as an adult, I can’t shake it off. That there’s something behind that, watching me. So that’s kinda why.” Page 4 - I’m sorry - Did you just... apologise to my stuffed animal?

It was a good movie. Being half Mexican, I enjoyed it a lot. And man, did I cry.

Finished up on my Christmas card so drew this beautiful person(he’s really comforting to draw for me) as a reward. Tried out some brushes on ClipStudio at the same time. I’ll post this years Christmas card in a couple of days when people got the shot to receive it by mail.

Day 10: Gigantic I remember the first time I heard about the Irish Elk. This scene is from an old story I never got the opportunity to draw. Until now? I'm one day behind and it's hard to catch up.

Day 8: Wives I remembered this shitty day when suddenly a bunch of photos of this couple flew into my timeline. One of the cutest weddings ever. https://youtu.be/B8WeGuZY3nk It was just so refreshing to see two people so happy. I just had to draw this shoujoish fanart.

Day 7: Shy

Sometimes you think someone’s shy when they’re just restricted. Everything felt sad, tiring and slow yesterday. Because that was the day we said goodbye.

Krisse wasn’t my cat, he was my roommates. And at first he wasn’t interested to know me at all. But we grew on each other these years. He started to sleep inside my room (on the floor, almost never on the bed). And we watched tv together when I ate my lunch. He could be a pain in the ass sometimes. Like, he started to pee on everything when he got mad. Including me. And he had little patience with you when he was hungry in the morning. But my, did you feel special when you managed to get him purring. He protected our house from neighbourhood cats, getting scars and everything. He got great at fighting, but never really got the hunting. The chickens didn’t mind him, he blended right in.

His favourite places to sleep was piles of trash. And under bushes in the summer. Sometimes when he didn’t come home at night you could find him sleep under one in the garden.

I miss you Krisse.

Day 6: Sword I wanted to draw these girls ever since the left one found Exalibur, but never had the time. So today's word went surprisingly easy. Even if it was a slow day.
