Flaky’s Mansion Portraits: Depressed Mandy
Depressed Mandy’s Lore (In The Flaky’s Mansion Universe):
Depressed Mandy is a depressed version of Mandy, who becomes severely depressed when her best friend Billy gets eaten alive by a kraken. She has disheveled hair and pitch black eyes, and she seems to be crying dark drippy tears. Depressed Mandy spends most of her time on school work as a coping mechanism. She also loves drinking steak sauce and constantly has terrible nightmares about a staticky version of Billy physically and mentally tormenting her, and tricking her into thinking the real Billy is still alive.
During the events of Billy and Mandy’s Big Boogey Adventure, Billy is killed when he gets swallowed whole by a kraken, leaving Mandy concerned and in shock, but she constantly reassures herself that Billy is fine. But later when she, Irwin and Grim are on the death boat, Mandy realises that Billy is actually dead, causing her to be in the depressed state she is now.
After the events of Billy and Mandy’s Big Boogey Adventure, Depressed Mandy runs away from her home due to her parents being negligent to her depression, and discovers the mansion, making it her new home. She spends most of her time either studying for school, crying and screaming about Billy’s death and kicking at the walls, or drinking steak sauce as it’s the only thing she consumes. She barely eats and has problems sleeping due to being paranoid about having nightmares about Billy.
Flaky sees Depressed Mandy at her room as she opens the door, and she starts laughing and her body twitches violently. Flaky covers her eyes in fear, but when she moves her hands from her eyes, Depressed Mandy is gone. After Flaky comforts Slendrina, she hears Depressed Mandy wailing as she bangs on the walls, causing Flaky to run off in terror.
Later, when Flaky gets away from Tinky Tank, she finds the key to Depressed Mandy’s room, and Depressed Mandy sobs and bangs at her walls once again, making Flaky nervous to enter her room. When Flaky unlocks the door and enters the room, she becomes even more anxious when she sees Depressed Mandy stretching her arms under her bed covers. She slowly walks up to her bed and pulls the covers off and raises her cleaver in the air, but she notices that Depressed Mandy is only sleeping, seemingly being harmless.
Flaky then slowly tries to walk out the room, but she accidentally bumps into a desk and breaks a framed photograph of Mandy and Billy. Meanwhile, Depressed Mandy is having a nightmare about Billy psychologically torturing her. He rips off his own face in front of her eyes and kills her by slitting her throat with a knife, but Mandy wakes up in her bedroom, thinking her nightmare is over, but when she goes the door and opens it, she sees a staticky Billy standing in front of her. She wakes up again in the void and tries to get out, but to no avail.
Mandy sees the staticky Billy again and orders him to help her, but he doesn’t say a word. When Mandy asks Billy why she isn’t answering him, he walks away from her. Mandy tries to follow him, but she gets stuck in a thick, black liquid, and slowly sinking into the liquid like quicksand. Mandy begs Billy to help her get out of the liquid, but he just watches and laughs at her in enjoyment as she sinks and drowns in the inky liquid.
Depressed Mandy finally wakes up from her nightmare and notices Flaky holding her now broken framed photograph. When Depressed Mandy asks her who she is and what she’s done with Billy, she realises the framed photograph is broken, causing her to become fiercely enraged at Flaky and pushing her against the wall, giving her the chance to steal her cleaver, which she does. She then sends herself and Flaky to Limbo (a location in the Underworld) for the fight that’s about to commence.
During the fight, Depressed Mandy manages to stab Flaky a few times with the cleaver, but when Flaky throws Depressed Mandy off of her, she manages to get the cleaver back and stabs Depression Mandy in the chest, and chops her legs off. Depressed Mandy manages to smack the cleaver out of Flaky’s hand and pushes her away, retrieving the cleaver again.
She slowly crawls towards Flaky in pain and threatens to knock her head off. She manages to slice one of Flaky’s legs with the cleaver, but when she tries to slice the other, Flaky quickly steps to the side and dodges the cleaver, causing Depressed Mandy to get the cleaver stuck into a wall. She tries pulling it out, but to no avail. She then notices a bucket filled with the same black liquid from her nightmare she had set up for Flaky above her, which gives Flaky the idea to dump the liquid onto Depressed Mandy, engulfing her and melting her to the floor, leaving her whole body in a black, goopy mess.
Assuming Depressed Mandy is dead, Flaky quickly runs to the wall and pulls the cleaver out, but when she runs back to where Depressed Mandy was, she disappears, leaving Flaky confused and shocked, giving the now melted Depressed Mandy the chance to jump out from being Flaky and begins to strangle her aggressively, causing Flaky to drop the cleaver.
Flaky struggles to reach for the cleaver as Depressed Mandy vigorously constricts her neck in her final attempt to kill Flaky, but Flaky manages to grab the cleaver and push Depressed Mandy away from her, then she delivers the final blow by stabbing Depressed Mandy in the forehead with her cleaver, causing her to cry out in pain, with Flaky showing remorse for what she did to her. She tries to pull the cleaver out of Depressed Mandy’s forehead, but she pushes Flaky away from her and pulls the cleaver out herself, then throws it towards Flaky’s feet.
Depressed Mandy then has a sudden, severe headache, but what she’s actually experiencing is a brain haemorrhage since the cleaver dug in so deeply into her brain, causing it to bleed violently and begins to swell up and eventually rupture, causing Depressed Mandy’s head to graphically explode, killing her in the process and spraying Flaky with her blood and guts as they splatter around the area.
After Mandy’s death, her spirit awakens in the same void from her nightmare and is haunted by the memories of her battle with Flaky. She slumps heavily and begins to cry in defeat as she floods the void with her tears that are still dark and drippy, despite being back in her normal state. Billy’s spirit then finds Mandy and comforts her as they both finally reunite after several months of grief and mourning, and they both walk deep into the void together.
Flaky is sent back to the mansion, and Mandy’s corpse is nowhere to be seen (due to being left in Limbo), but there are some blood stains on her bed. Flaky finds the key to the next area in the mansion and encounters Mandy, who is now a spirit and she thanks Flaky for setting her soul free from the depression she’s been suffering for the last several months.
In Flaky’s final battle with Shadow Meggy, Mandy’s spirit, along with Rebecca’s (aka Amanda) spirit and Kayako’s spirit which are set free by Flaky later on, helps Flaky defeat Shadow Meggy as repaying the favour for freeing her soul. Once Shadow Meggy is defeated, Mandy’s soul is finally at peace, for now…
