Strobing is the hottest trend in beauty right now, but even if you know how to DIY the technique, you may be feeling left out if you have pale skin — I know how that is. Don’t worry, fellow pasty princesses! I scoured the market for the lightest illuminators. Not only will these show up, they will make your bone structure pop.

under eye concealer 101

there’s 2 parts to flawless under eye concealing: covering it + airbrushed finish

how to cover dark circles: 1. you’ll either need a color correcting concealer or a regular concealer (or both for extra coverage) 2. using your fingers, apply a THIN  layer of color correcting concealer onto the dark areas- tap it in gently, fingers will help melt the product into the skin 3. take a creamy liquid concealer and tap it on top of the corrector and bring it down so it goes over your skin with foundation on already 4. blend in by tapping it gently again with your fingers and make sure you evenly spread out the product and dont be afraid to bring/blend it up to your hairline area

products i recommend for it: • tarte cc under eye corrector • benefit erase paste • bobbi brown corrector • urban decay naked skin concealer • mac pro longwear concealer (esp if you’re oily) • nars radiant creamy concealer

next, how to have the most perfect photoshopped, airbrushed finish: 1. super lightly tap off excess moisture of concealer with a dry or damp sponge 2. take a sponge (could be a beautyblender or one of those triangular ones that you can bulk buy) and take a translucent loose powder 3. pack it onto the area you applied concealer- seriously dont be scared to go ham with this, translucent loose powder is the one makeup product you can cake on without looking cakey 4. this is basically baking so just leave it on there for a couple minutes, move on to your brows or somethin 5. take a smaller fluffy brush and blend away the excess powder

tips on how to avoid creasing: • THIN layers- concealers are full coverage so you don’t need much • after color corrector and after concealer tap off excess product with a dry sponge • do the baking/powder step immediately after applying concealer • seriously if you’re using translucent loose powder PACK IT ON

What is your favorite face primer?

I usually don't use face primer because with my skin type, my makeup goes on best if I wash/tone/moisturize (in order) about 10-15 minutes before I start applying my makeup. I used to use face primer before I had my skin figured out exactly, & I just used the sheer green face primer from e.l.f. because the green canceled out redness around my nose & any blemishes I had at the time & it was only like 6 bucks.

If you’re a makeup artist or makeup enthusiast, i’m sure at some point you’ve heard about the Makeup Forever Flash Palettes. The makeup palettes can be used for so many things, foundation, concealer, color correcting, liner, shadows, lipstick, blush, face paint and i’m sure many more uses. In theatre and special FX terms these are cream paints, the MUF ones and the dupes so they have many uses BUT if you want them to last then you have to set them.

Black Up is stocked at Sephora now!! I’m so thrilled, they’ve been an online only retailer it seems for years and years. 3 Ways To Clean Your MakeUp Brushes!
