she didn’t get along with her seniors. she had enough problems connecting with her group members. it shouldn’t be a surprise she didn’t make it her priority to become friends with her label mates. “no prior drama experience. this will be my first role.” and this is what made her question if she was ever going to make it into acting. it’s been five years since wish debuted and she was still unsuccessful in getting even a supporting role. “most likely. supporting roles seem to be apart of a normal career. but don’t you know idol actresses tend to get leading roles.” idol actresses had a fanbase backing them up when they plunged into their acting venture. but at this point any role would appease her. but a cliche romance wasn’t on the top of her list. but bc wouldn’t want to ruin wish’s image by putting her in something that doesn’t involve a cliche romance plot, but maybe bc would surprise her. unlikely. “it wouldn’t surprise anyone, but what do you expect from bc?”

taejin doesn’t take much to the juniors — always the first to turn a cold shoulder and an air of disinterest. this time, it’d be no different than another chore added onto the list of tasks commandeered by bc. micromanaged underneath a microscope, this would just be another example written off as following orders to buy his momentary freedom. “no prior drama experience? if this is your first role, just be aware you’re going to be met with a shit response from the netizens.” he puts it bluntly. can’t hide the straight-edged words cutting right to the point because he knows that even a hard layer isn’t enough for the aftermath of names shielded by anonymity. 

“nobody likes an idol going into the acting the scene, let alone an idol from bc. you have to be consistent and prove you’re in it for the long run — not that bc bought you this position.” he rattles it off, knowing better than anyone twelve years down this back and forth tug-of-war, that something like this becomes in tuned to an uphill battle with cheap punches. twelve years later, and he was now only starting to feel the effects of public approval. “idol-actresses get a lot of leading roles after they’ve stepped foot. either that or the company has a lot of money and pays for it behind the scene and in return they get more press for their idol. it’s a cycle.” his fingers graze the nape of his neck, and he taps away clicking his tongue to fill the silence.

bc was as fake as they came. they pushed the family image to all the fans and shoved it down the idols throats. but they were far from the happy family they tried to trick people into believing. she was a victim like all the idols under the company. taejin had no intention of truly helping her. nor did he want to. the feeling was mutual. she didn’t want to be micromanaged. and she didn’t want taejin’s mentoring. she had enough of that from her mother.

she sat quitly and listened to the older man. she knew the shit storm she was walking into. she’s seen other idol actresses suffer backlash from the netizens. she was an idol from bc. how dare she try to make it as an actress? didn’t she have enough of the spotlight? and the truth was no. she shared the spotlight with 8 other girls. she wanted something of her own. besides she never wanted to be an idol. being an idol was her mother’s dream. acting has always been a passion of hers. a dream she discovered on her own. she would just have to prove her worth. show the netizens that she had what it takes.

she let out a small laugh. “bc would never pay for my leading role in a drama. they aren’t even paying for a secondary role. not even supporting.” she’s been struggling for the last five years to get any role. she’d be happy with a cameo or supporting role. but so far she’s gotten nothing. “my success will be my own.” no help from the company or her mother.

How would you describe your voice (tone, abilities, strengths, weaknesses)?: “i’m a  contralto. i prefer to stay on the lower end of the scale, but can reach some slightly higher notes if i need to.” she really has no weaknesses due to her years of vocal training. she can keep a pitch and does quite well with vocal colouring.

summary: savannah doesn’t like her solo stage.

the girls of wish were lined up in a row in the middle of the dance studio awaiting the choreographr to give them their assigned special stage. bc liked to keep wish moving. they were just finishing up their wishlights tour and where already preparing for a concert. and it wouldn’t change any time soon. they were about to be hit with the end of year performances. they’ve been constantly moving since day one of their debut. their success made it so that bc would give them every opportunity handed to them. next month would commemorate their five year anniversary. five years of wish. five years of hating her career up to this point. to celebrate bc is giving fanclub members an exclusive concert. it was a money grab disguised as a gift to fans who already supported them. the choreographer listed of their names and the stage they would be participating with two group stages. she had the grand total of one solo special stage. her song was “player”. with two group stages and one small group stage. she was a performer. born to be a performer. her mom made sure of that. but her time in wish has made it clear that she likes to perform alone. that’s probably why she loved acting.they all sat down against the wall and waited as the choreographer called them up to teach them the moves to their solo special stage. the members before her got up and watched as the choreographer go through their dance moves and then copied the dance. at this point the choreographer wasn’t looking for perfection. he was just making sure they got the moves down, she got up from her spot on the floor when the choreographer called her name. she stood in front of  him and watched the trainer do a run through of her stage. and after watching it she was mad. compared to the other members before her part was small and simple. the choreography was a bunch of footwork. and the only truly spectacular move was the split at the end. she grew up dancing. since she could walk her mom threw her into dancing. she felt personally attacked by the small part she had. she spent years training to become an idol and she was given 20 seconds on stage to jump around and do a split. she mimicked the trainer picking it up instantly. she would have to practice it very little. she sat back and continued to watch the other members.as she sat and watched the other members go through their choreography she grew more jealous. the vocalists of the group got more complex choreography than her. their stages were complex. they irony is she never really wanted to be an idol. she shouldn’t really care. but for some reason she did. the choreographer finished up with the run through of special stages. after solo stages they split up to run through the small group stages. the song was once upon a time. she actually enjoyed the stage. the choreography was both simple and complex. she watched as the choreographers go through the moves. and with the choreographer talking them through it they did a rough run through. it would take a couple days of practicing to perfect it.the choreographer dismissed them after their run through with the promise they would continue to practice it tomorrow along with learning the group stages.she packed her bags and made her way out the room. she wanted to get home to prepare herself for the next day.

a twelve year run inside bc entertainment, and the gap between decipher and the younger groups come as a disparaging distance, growing foreign as the years carry on. taejin likes to attribute his few friendships guised as blatant ignorance to merely picking and choosing the people the sticks to. yet, it doesn’t come as surprise or an uproot when bc decides to slide him somewhere else for the image of ‘family’ and ‘unity’ inside the company becomes the stark title of what they want to portray to the growing public. and in his case, another wish member apart from the one who holds the nature of his heart becomes a project bc places for him to instill the basics and xyz’s of creating a formidable acting career.

“do you have any acting roles prior, or is bc prepping you for the first one?” there’s no formalities of welcomes and hellos, just pure black and white force that pushes his words in solid monotones. his eyes glance through the papers, flipping through. lips pursed together as he thinks to ten years ago when the roles had reversed, and he was the one on the edge of a new career. “most likely — they’ll put you in a supporting role to test the waters. unless you’re lucky and you dive lead from the start. with wish’s image and how young you guys still are — it wouldn’t surprise me if they want you to pursue a cliche romance drama first.”

it was one of those very bad, no good days. everything had been off since she woke up that morning. and now? it just kept happening. she found a nice little spot to grab something to eat, pulled out the most recent script that made it’s way to her and have a nice little time. until she realized she didn’t have her wallet. ( and she cursed herself for taking taxi and now she had to cancel a few cards. ) 

but there was a bigger problem she needed to handle. paying for her food. “ah..just one…” she looked at the cashier and then looked around, her eyes spotting another idol behind her. and she really, really didn’t want to do but it had to be done. “excuse me…would you be able to help me for a second..i think my wallet fell out in the taxi..and i will be calling my manager to them to bring you the money..” she huffed. “right after i contact my card company.”

savannah wasn’t the closest with her members. what they all did outside of practice and schedules was none of her business. but despite not being close she still cared for them. some what.

she was out for lunch on one of wish’s rare day off. she decided the small cafe was as good a spot as any. she walked in and started looking at the menu as she waited in line when she was suddenly interrupted by a familiar face. rina stood in front of her and she was looking upset. “yeah i can pay for you.” she said pulling out her wallet. “you can just pay be back the next time we see each other which i can only assume will be tomorrow.” she handed the younger member of her group the money. “or we could just have lunch and our manager could bring it by now.”

Choi Yejun had heart it at every livestream: you need to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It would be so cute if you did. Share your island with us Jude. Really, it was non-stop. Yejun didn’t have anything against video games. He played every once in a blue moon, usually when he was so creatively blocked he needed something mindless to do. Or when he really wanted to avoid eye contact back in his days in the dorm. Animal Crossing, however, was a little too in line with his wholesome image. What was the point in settling an island and shaking trees for fruit? No one could even die in the damn thing.

Really, it had been an impulse buy of his. Now, ninety hours later, he was clearly hooked. Yejun pumped his fist. Yes, Chief had finally moved to his island. He heard a sound and nearly broke the game as he shoved it underneath his chair. He cleared his throat and attempted nonchalance, though he felt a distinct blush around his ears that was normally reserved for variety shows when they made him do something extra nauseating.

savannah was never a gamer. it never seemed to appeal to her. and even if she did enjoy it she never had the time in her youth. she spent most of her time dancing and practicing for the next community production. her brother was a gamer somewhat. he enjoyed gaming to an extent, something she could blame on his friends. he didn’t really have the time to game. but she’d sometimes walk in on him playing mortal kombat. sometimes she’d play with him until they were unable to keep their eyes open. but it’s been years since she’s set her hand on a controller.

she’s opening the door to the small room the companies have set aside as a break room when she catches sight of jude sliding something up under his seat. she looked him over noticing the blush around his ears. “nothing. just thought i’d come and sit for a second. but i’m wondering what you were doing. what’s that you're hiding under your chair?” she asked with a smirk.

wish has an overly cute sound. that is at least it was in the years right after debut. savannah prefers a more mature sound. songs that don’t scream cute. the type of cute that will give you a toothache. she hates upbeat and cheery music. a lot of their early works she struggled to record and perform. or should she say most of wishes discography she struggled to perform.. some of the worst being very very very and dance the night away. as wish has grown it seems bc as given them a more mature concept. which savannah has no problem with.

HYEMIN CAN’T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME HE’S BEEN GIVEN A DAY OFF. Even though he knows he can reach out to people to hang out and unwind, he still feels like an unwanted bother. It seems kind of rude to him to complain about busy schedules, considering that some people didn’t have as many opportunities as him. It’s why he tends to hang out with his dog on days like this. After a few blocks around the neighborhood, it seems like Ggomi has tired out, panting and slowing down. Hyemin wonders if this is the perfect timing to grab a cup of coffee, a sweet start to his early day.

Before he can give a second thought, ggomi’s already running towards another person. “Ggomi wait!” he shouts out, running without the leash in his hand. When he can catch his breath, he finally looks up and sees the familiar person. “Hey, long time no see! I didn’t think Ggomi would find you before I could manage to see you.” Hyemin bit his bottom lip worriedly. It had been his fault for not reaching out first, something he felt kind of guilty about, and he wonders if the person had been offended.

wish was busy. with their popularity bc milked them for everything they had. it's not like she cared. she had no friends. nothing to do besides practice for auditions she kept failing. but deep down inside her she knew all she wanted was a friend. she just didn’t want to each out for one. she was in the practice room getting some early practice in before enjoying her day off. she could dance for hours. it’s the one thing she loved about being an idol. despite being forced to dance she’s grown to love it. likes she's grown to love acting. it was after her fifth time through that she decided to take a break.

she packed her bag and walked out of the cool air conditioned studio. she went down the hall and out the front door. she needed a drink. preferably something sweet and as sugar filled. a milkshake sounded nice. she was walking towards the nearest baskin robbins when she caught sight of a furry creature running towards her. “hey.” she said as she saw someone walk up towards her after the dog. “i guess ggomi just has better eyesight. or maybe they just pay more attention.” it’d been a while since she’s seen the younger idol. they’ve hung out a couple of times. she enjoyed the company, but would never admit that. which meant she didn’t take offense when he failed to reach out to her. neither did she. she was surprised he even found her company enjoyable. “nothing really. about to get a milkshake. and you?”
