I would follow Chris Bowes through hell and back. I would definetly complain a lot along the way, but I would do it.

To Holmgard and Beyond by Turisas is what originally got me down the path of folk metal and I am forever grateful of them for that.
I am curious, which band members have previously interacted with this blog and in what way?
Chris and Elliot used to reblog and answer confessions sometimes, not just about Alestorm but also other especially funny/controversial ones. That probably prompted people into sending more Alestorm confessions. Chris deleted his blog, but Elliot still follows.
Heri also follows the page and likes posts about Týr sometimes. You’ve probably seen his tumblr, he’s pretty nice and responsive there.
Lars reblogged and answered a post about himself once.
About the others in the picture: Skrymer used to have a tumblr promoting his art, I think it’s still around but not really active (also he doesn’t have an ask box) and Trollhorn got into discourse with a tumblr some years back that were accusing him of being problematic for wearing Burzum shirts. The page was about saying which metal bands were “awful” based on having problematic content or members. There’s a post in his blogspot about that.
Also, the bit about Ensiferum in the confession was probably because there seems to be an official band account, but I don’t think anyone knows who’s really behind it.
And to the person who asked about Olli’s tumblr: this was ages ago, I really can’t remember, sorry. Don’t think he used it much, though.
I assume the other ones are in the picture, but who from Turisas was on tumblr??????
Olli had a tumblr a long, long time ago.

We know for a fact that there are members of certain bands mentioned here that are aware of this blog and have interacted with it in the past. From what I remember, some from Alestorm, Týr and Heidevolk. Members of Finntroll, Turisas and possibly Ensiferum have also been on tumblr before (not anymore, I think). So, you know, just sharing in case you'd like to consider that to decide the content of your confessions...

I think the controversies Heri Joensen and Týr have found themselves involved in in the past are a load of crap and I feel sorry for them having to deal with that. People are way too eager to jump to conclusions about artists without doing proper and intelligent research.

Topless Heri Joensen. That is all.

I'm excited that the American folk metal scene is growing, but feel disappointed that so many of the bands aren't well known yet. They're still young, but they give me hope for the future of the folk metal scene, which I feel has grown quiet over the last few years.

I wanna have sex on Alestorm's inflatable rubber ducky.

Confession: I think this blog is great and I am happy it exists <3

Shout-out to all the folkmetalheads who make an active effort to keep the scene open, inclusive and welcoming to everyone, no matter thier race, religion, sexuality, gender or nationality. You fucking rule.

My first thought when listening to Heidevolk for the first time was "That's the weirdest sounding Danish I've ever heard."

Mathias Nygård in the Stand Up And Fight acoustic video is the reason I have unrealistic expectations of men.

I have suffered from severe anxiety and depression for the past two years, and sometimes I considered ending it. Recently however, I listened to Turisas’s ‘Stand Up and Fight’ and I burst into tears at how much it inspired me to pick myself up and keep fighting for better days. Turisas have probably saved my life, and if I ever meet them I will tell them how much that song means to me.

I was very sad when I saw Heidevolk live and they didn't play my favourite song :(

Warlord's facepaint makes him look like some type of cherry falvoured candy. I wouldn't mind finding out if he really does taste like that ;)

A friend of mine introduced me to Týr by showing me the song "Hold the Heathen Hammer high". Back home I tried to look that song up on YoutTube again, but I hadn't been able to undestand any word from the song upon first listening to it, nor did I remember the title. So I just typed "tyr habadibadabadai" or something along those lines in the search bar. First result was the song.
