I mean he's fully aware and accepting that she's mixed-race and female? Her very existence as a half-white/half Japanese person is already demonized. Being all of that while being a gender non-conforming female? And to top it off, half-Japanese female roaming around Japan hunting down white men for vengeance? Totally unheard of.

But he doesn't let any of that deter him. He's accepting of all of that and is even willing to risk his life saving, serving and following her. And I think that's OTP material.

Every time I remember Mizu walking away from the farm after she killed her husband I think about how she would have walked back into the farm, passed her husband and mother's bodies to collect her possessions, including her sword, glasses, haori and hakama.

Did she leave the bodies there to rot or did she bury them?

I tend to be indifferent towards shipping as a golden rule of consuming media and observing fandom, but I can't really support/ship Mizu x Taigen because like. Why would you want someone to hook up with a childhood bully. Not just a bully, but someone who caused you so much bodily harm and actively tried to kill you as a child.

Maybe this is just my personal bias playing here because if I run into a childhood bully as an adult (and I had a lot), hooking up with them will never be a possibility.

Edit: I'm just as indifferent to Mizu x Akemi as well. 👀

Every time I watch Akemi and Taigen's sex scene I laugh a little. There's something funny about that scene but I can't quite place it.
