Rubirules barely managed to dodge the orion shields, but was hit with the water and electricity attack.

“Gnnnnnhgh!!!!” Because of the attack, Rubi was closer to the ground, meaning that Alpha could easily tackle him at any moment. But the Netking was not about to give up without a fight. He floated back and threw multiple crystal shards toward Alpha, in attempt to get the other off his back.

“You do not wanna mess with me again, kid. This time I will NOT lose to you.”

He was hit with a few of the crystal shards, but he kept going, even ripping one of them out of his shoulder and throwing it back at Rubi. Leaping into the air and grabbing the Netking by the foot, you could say that he was a bit out of his mind. Under normal circumstances, he probably wouldn’t have tried that. Blind rage does things to him.

“You monster-- I will end you if it’s the last thing I do!” He grabbed another one of the crystal shards that was sticking out of his torso, and stabbed Rubi in the foot with it.

He’s kind of pissed.

“CHRIST!”

Rubirules shot up into the air, only a few feet above and away from where Alpha stood. Rubi floated there for a second, contemplating his next move. The crystalloid knew that if he touched the ground for a second, the battle was on, but as long as he kept above the ground, he would be safe.

Rubirules, now having his composure together, took a deep breath, and grinned at Alpha. Perhaps a fair battle with him would be fun. “What’s up, kid? Don’t you know it’s common courtesy not to swear in games? You could get kicked for that, y’know.”

Bottled up rage and fury was practically bursting from Alpha. He didn’t say a word as he started circling around the other, hands balled up to fists. He was almost making his hands bleed from how tightly he was clenching them. He just wanted to get revenge so badly-- and if it had to be through a game, so be it.

He didn’t say another word (unless angry yelling counted), as he ran at Rubi, throwing as many Orion Shields as he could at him. Then he went for his water attack, and then his electricity attack. ANYTHING he could use to get at Rubi, anything he could do to make him pay.

“Don’t say that…please…” The thought of Alpha blaming himself was more then she could take at the moment. She gripped the back of his shirt, holding on tighter as her own facade began cracking.

“Michael…I-I don’t know how to help you right now… I’m sorry…” If there was anything Flamegirl hated, it was feeling useless. Her eyes were shut tight to keep tears from escaping. It felt as it everything she feared was slamming into her. Memories of what happened to her that day, and being unable to help the one she loved.

“You don’t-- You don’t have to help me. It’s-- It’s just good enough that you’re here, a-alive-- and not--” Oh god, he hated the thought of her dying. Honestly, he wouldn’t have been around for much longer if that happened.

The idea scared him, but..

“I love you-- so much. I would do anything for y-you. I-I’d rather die than see you go through anything like that ever again.” He kissed her on the cheek before lowering his head on her shoulder.

“I’m just so glad your safe.”

Just a moment ago Alpha was sulking in the corner, mixed up in feelings of anger towards others and himself. However, all that anger was directed at someone else, as soon as he saw them.

For a while, Flamey didn’t know what to do– how to react. He was getting so worked up to the point of tears. Flamey tried not to dwell on those things, about what it was like being used against her will. The feeling of burning alive…she couldn’t dwell on those things.

She always felt she had to be strong. She couldn’t let herself break because she needed to be able to support those around her. Alpha though…he couldn’t do that. The boy wore his heart on his sleeve, which Flamegirl always admired. But she just wished that she could actually help if she was gonna do this ‘tough’ act.

Trying not to startle him, she moved forward and pulled the fighter close. Holding him tight, this was all she knew to try and help in any way. At the same time, she was also trying to hide the tears forming in the corner of her eyes.

Alpha can’t stop shaking. The memory of her, bending, forming, burning into some power source replayed in his head. Her screaming, her obvious pain, her look of pure terror right before she transformed. He was going to make himself sick thinking about that.

“I almost lost you-- Stephanie-- and it would have been all his fault--” he stopped again, wrapping his arms tightly around her shoulders.

“It would have been all my f--fault-- I found the damn virus in the f-first place. H--He would have never thought to put the anti-virus in you if I--I--”

Or Alpha was too busy trying to beat him up to notice anything.

Flamegirl was almost surprised. Alpha seemed angrier then she was about all this. Gently taking his hands into hers, she looked him in the eye, her expression showing concern for the fighter.

“I know…I’m just as upset as you are, but you can’t let it get you worked up.” She held his hands tighter. “You don’t need to be angry on my behalf. Besides…he just isn’t worth the stress…”

“He hurt you-- Steph!! If it wasn’t for him, you wouldn’t have gotten sucked into the anti-virus in the first place. You were so close to-- to--”

He stopped himself, resuming only when he didn’t feel like was going to burst into tears.

“I listened to him talk about you while you were in there. When he was telling us what he did. Neomutant is even worse than Rubirules in my opinion. And yet-- he only got away with a slap on the fucking wrist.”

His grip on Flamey’s hands tightened, biting his lip. The sound of her screaming resounded in his ears, the sound of Neomutant laughing about how he was the cause of all of it. Calling her a tramp.

Hot tears streamed down his face, his whole body now shaking. He wanted that jerk to suffer for what he did. He wanted Neomutant dead.

“Neomutant didn’t even get punished for what he's done. He didn’t get jail time like Rubirules did. He was the whole reason you got hurt-- and he’s walking around like nothing ever happened.” His hands were literally shaking, he was so mad.
