I'm having some issues today, but even I wouldn't believe it from this drawing. It's a very simple landscape, but I think it turned out really nicely, especially for 15 minutes! Daily drawing 2429
It's been a while since I've tried a more painterly workflow. I feel pretty rusty, but I like the way it turned out! Daily drawing 2425.

The story? Bland, predictable. The villains had weird character developments.
But oh boy do I enjoy IU and Lee Byeon Woo Seok's acting! They were a treat to the eye, IU's acting was art as always, whoever was in charge of costumes did an excellent job.
I think "The King: Eternal Monarch" will keep the 1st place in my "modern monarchy AU" list for now.
"Perfect Crown" was an easy watch, which I appreciate. If I had to describe it in one word? Cute 😊

Episode 9's ending was so freaking sad. I wasn't expecting to feel it so much, but after seeing them being pushed around, pressured, slandered for one whole hour... and even more, knowing it was all because of other people personal interests, yeah, it got me.
I'm not a violent person but Yi An's scene against the Queen's father was so satisfying. The Prince knows who is to blame about everything, he truly does.
What is so interesting to me is how Yi An and Sung Hui-ju have this "reverse character development" going on. She used to be invulnerable and nothing fazed her; now that love has made its way through her armour, she feels fragile, unable to protect him. He used to fear taking action because he thought it would harm his loved ones; now he loves someone and he gained an armour to face the battlefield.
The Queen, the Queen's father and the Prime Minister may think they're pushing them to their downfall but they're just feeding them with opportunities to grow.
Yi Ann will find his roar and love will be his strength, Sung Hui-ju will make a place for herself in the palace but she'll also find her value outside of societal standards.

I mean... it's still entertaining and pretty to watch but what even is the plot and what even are these characters anymore 😅
I root for the leads and I like how the two of them are navigating their relationship by their own. But every episode I feel like I'm watching them from zero, there's no linearity in their personalities. I mean, it's not consistent enough for me to fully grasp who they are, what they want.
I don't like the Queen and I don't like the direction they chose for the Prime Minister, at least so far. I can barely like one one-sided crush, but they've now hinted twice that the Queen has/had a crush on the Prince.
I do love all the side characters. Their scenes are engaging and so fun to watch 😊

No one owes artists anything.
But existence is lonely and sometime you throw hours and hours of effort into a void, on the slim chance it will say something back.
