Rudolph’s eyes dropped to his mouth for a brief moment while he wiped away the mustache. She licked her lip, using her hand to wipe away her own mustache as she met his eyes again. She was not prepared for his answer. Not even a little bit. Her eyes widened and she blinked, shaking her head slightly in disbelief. That was what she had done?
She swallowed looking down, her heart heavy with guilt. He was right. It wasn’t fair that she got so much credit for something they all accomplished. Every single one of them had been crucial that foggy night.
"I never asked for a song. Or for my nose to glow."
She bit her lip slightly harder just to keep it from quivering.
"You are beautiful. And I’m sorry you don’t have a song. I never meant to take attention away from you."
She shrugged a bit, wishing for the ten millionth time that she could have just been a normal reindeer. She looked down keeping her voice quiet.
"You’re the best reindeer of all. You’re amazing. And you deserve the song more than I do. I’m sorry my nose glows. If I could make it stop, I would."
prancer found himself somewhat thrown off by
her words. his eyebrows raised and he pulled
back some at the compliments && apologies.
he always knew rudolph was nice && maybe
he would have liked her more if he didn't
always avoid her && never spoke to her-- he
just didn't care to associate to reindeers with
weird noses && who hogged all the attention.
he didn't really think about her possibly not
wanting it all. . . he thought everyone wanted
attention like he did.
he sank a bit, pulling his shoulders up around
him and pulled his cocoa back up to his lips,
avoiding her eyes. well, great. now he felt bad--
he hated feeling bad. guilt was probably his
least favorite emotion.
{ now look what she's gone and made you
do !!! she's made you all guilty !!! }
no-- he brushed his thoughts away. she didn't
mean to make him feel guilty. . . right? what if
that was her plan all along? to play innocent &&
sweet to make him feel bad for all he said !!!
his eyes shot up in a glare at her at this
realization.
"stop making me feel so bad, rudolph !!! i--
compliments won't get you everywhere you
know && -- && you're not gonna. . . win me
over so easy !!! just putting on an adorable
pouty face won't woo me so easy."
