“—Mr. Hamilton—” “It’s Sir, actually.”
LEWIS HAMILTON and GEORGE RUSSELL at a fan event ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix (April 9, 2022)

You know what I hate? That the mainstream discussion now is going to be "well the Merc tyre strategy failed" when we all know it didn't. M*x got two cheap pit stops and still couldn't catch Lewis on 40 lap old tyres. The strategy worked, it worked so well the FIA had to step in and hand the championship to their golden boy.
thinking about how verstappen has almost never overtaken hamilton without incident this season and meanwhile perez and hamilton were doing like figure skating ballet racing without any contact
am i done with this sport? i don’t know, but they really broke something with that race yesterday. this, to me, felt worse than the cheating scandals of the 2000s. because it was the actual fucking governing body breaking the rules this time. “we investigated ourselves and we don’t think we did anything wrong uwu” if there are no consequences for them doing this, what’s the point of having a rule book? i really hope mercedes take them to a real life court. like idek if they can get hamilton back his championship that they stole i just want the fia to get that there are fucking consequences for this shit and to think twice before putting a picture perfect made for tv finish above following the rules
uhh did you see Helmut is threatening that Red Bull will leave the sport? The article was in german so I don't know if some of the original meaning was lost through translation?
Lmao I hope so, goodbye and bad riddance to them
this was not a scenario of rules needing clarity. this was not a subjective decision. the rules are black and white, hard and fast in the regulations. in over a decade of watching, the safety car protocols have never been played with like this. they cannot be overridden because masi decides he wants a showdown where the title is taken away.
we DO need clarity for next year, on what's allowed in racing and what drivers can and can't do. but THIS is not that. this was the race director manipulating the result through outright breaking the rules and therefore determining the championship winner.
and i'm disgusted tbh that the narrative is being changed so quickly to direct away from the fact that the race end was an absolute farce at best, and rigged at worst.
and i wish i could say after this whole year that i believe the situation would have happened the same in reverse, had it been lewis in p2. but sadly i just can't. in fact i'm pretty certain it wouldn't have.
it was the ugliest day i've ever witnessed in this sport and to me, it feels very different to shithousery between teams and drivers and even penalties and the like in the past, because this was the very people employed to put rules into place throwing the book away, with no explanation other than "i can do what i fucking please" and it fucking stinks. what's the point of having 6000 pages of regulations if one man can overrule the whole thing with the wave of a hand, *especially* in regards to something that's in place for SAFETY.
it's not even about who wins anymore. i don't care. i don't even want it like this. it was won on track and taken away and i don't want it back with this black mark over it. it's about the integrity of the sport, and teams and drivers knowing they're not going to be played with like puppets on a string for someone's entertainment. it's about having trust that the rules are worth half a damn and will be enforced. this was not a grey area. this was a flagrant disregard of protocol for personal gain.
Not to be that person, but maybe some Lewis fans would be less angry at macs and redbull if they didn't have to endure a whole year of:
racist and hateful comments from both rbr and some of their fans,
constant booing,
insinuating Lewis tried to kill macs,
childish behavior and insults from macs, not to mention the lack of checking up on Lewis after that crash after underlining himself Lewis' 'reaction' to his crash,
the fact macs and rbr get away with their behavior so easily, never apologizing, never owning up to it, while Lewis has to explain himself every. single. time. he. says. or. reacts. to. anything.
Oh and the fact people have been calling macs 'champion' left and right all year long when he hasn't yet won anything while Lewis is still 'a fraud' with 7 championships.
firstly, the status and standings of a championship should Never affect how u approach an incident. secondly, if you're gonna do so, if u insist on letting them race it out, do it fair. red flag it, let them all change tyres, have a standing start i dont care. that would have been equal. however it would have ended, there. a fair fight. leaving lewis a sitting duck out there and bending and breaking your own rules to allow verstappen to overtake is biased and unfair and has nothing to do with equality, not even close. fuck fia
“let them race” they did race. lewis won. that last lap wasn’t a race it was a fraud.
Also friendly reminder that there is no history being made with this championship other than having a new one.
The youngest one is still Seb, the first one with RedBull is Seb and the first Dutch world champion is Nyck de Vries.
This wasn't history being made, don't let than narrative fool you. This is merely the case of another one.
Anyway max is a cunt and I hope it feels good to know you needed the fastest car, biased stewarding, a phony grand prix at spa, driving into your title rival, a number two driver who all but bent over and let you fuck him, and a media campaign built on racism and personal tear downs, BRAKE CHECKING, and more to beat your title rival by one fucking grid position after being handed that position by a stewarding team who have a proven racist bias.
the biggest farce in sporting history
only the 5 cars between maks and lewis being allowed to unlap is the clearest rigging of a sport ive ever seen
honestly this
