Maybe it was the adrenaline wearing off from the fight earlier; maybe it was the need to diffuse the tension between the two as they walk back late to the dorms. But whatever it is, it made Izuku speak up and ask Kacchan.

It was just a simple thought out loud of “Kacchan, do you remember ..?” Soon, it became a trip down the memory lane for the both of them. Does Kacchan remember their 3rd grade teacher with a funny nose? Does Deku remember the cat they picked up from the alleyway when they were going home from school? Does Kacchan remember the forest they used to trespass cause they believed it was a villain’s hideout?

Izuku wonders that maybe it was the silence of the common room or maybe the privacy in the darkness ,away from prying eyes, that made Kacchan come closer, bring their foreheads together, and smile as he indulges Izuku’s reminiscing throughout the night. Eh, whatever it is, it can wait. Izuku has a lifetime with Kacchan to figure it out.
