World Class Catering in Williamstown

The conference were predominantly at the Philadelphia Convention Center and no expenses were spared. Apart from the venue itself, the catering, which was organized by our company but with caterers from Williamstown, was world class. We were incredibly impressed by the professionalism and expert service of the three companies we used. The events coordinator needs to be congratulated on her choice and even though it was the first time they were used it certainly would not be the last when we are in this area again.

Melt-in-your mouth cakes from Alicia’s Cakes and Catering  left us at a loss for words and I would definitely try to imitate their cake decorating ideas. I even took pictures to make sure I remember the detail, just a pity they would not part with the recipes, or that they did not deliver as far as New York. It would not be fair to leave out Masso's who catered for our final evening of the conference.

They offered us delectable BBQ buffets, both hot and cold meals to suit anyone’s taste buds and professional staff serving. You could guess that we did not go out and find a restaurant afterwards. Zallies Own is another that I have to mention and if only I had the opportunity to take some of their meals home with me. Yes, indeed, even though New York is my favorite city, I have to say that my time in Williamstown was an eye opener with excellent cuisine, places to go and things to do.

Eating Never Stopped

There simply is no other words that could ring more true than to say we never stopped eating, as I have never been so spoilt for choice. The restaurants in Williamstown are indeed some of the best and where I though New York was the foodie town, it have to say I was mistaken. We ate at various restaurants and one of the very best was the Hong Kong Kitchen with the best Chinese food ever.

One of our favorite places where we went twice in the evenings and struggled to leave in time to get an early morning was the Library IV. It has amazing steaks, and glorious salad bar with a large variety and also some delectable seafood. I have never seen a relatively small lace well compared to New York it surely is small, that has such a selection of Chinese eateries. Around every corner lurks another Chinese restaurant and we tried different restaurants each time. The wasabi restaurant stand out for awesome sushi selections, and amazing Chinese and Japanese entrees.

I have thought that New York was the city with the most restaurants, but when I look at the selection in Williamstown, I have to think twice. As I mentioned is the Chinese food industry incredibly popular, but when I look at the amount of pizzerias, it seems to be close to beating Chinese restaurants. From Antonios Pizza to Pat’s pizzeria, to Milano Pizza we skipped them mostly and searched for steakhouses such as Sharky’s Sports Bar & Grill instead.

Amazing Accommodation at Best Western

We could not have asked for better accommodation than what we have gotten and even if I had to have made the decision myself, I could not have done better. We were booked in at the Best Western Monroe Inn and Suites and was in close proximity to the Philadelphia Convention Center, Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, and the Philadelphia Airport. The close proximity to the conference center caused that we could walk down each morning and again in the afternoon without the need to make use of additional transportation.

During the time, that we were there other people also attended conferences and meetings at the Rowan University and it was a great group of people whom I met and conversed with in the breakfast hall in the mornings. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was amazing and included such a variety from, yogurt, Danishes, muffins, bagels, breads, hot and cold breakfasts, waffles and fresh juices, fruits and coffee.

Free high-speed internet, meeting rooms, pool and fitness center and luxurious rooms made for a great stay. It was at the time mostly business travelers that stayed over, although it is the type of place which would be great for families. It is pet friendly, which is something most families cherish, is close to the Jersey shore beaches and all other attractions. I could picture how my husband would appreciate the two golf courses should we decide to take a break together to this nice destination.

Wine Tasting Experience

I adore great wines and it is something, which I rarely drink, and I am one of those social drinkers who sips at their wine all night long during festive seasons. I used to drink wine ore often, but since I fell pregnant the first time and then looking after three children, I simply never cared to start investing in wines. My husband is a beer lover who also drink the occasional whiskey and when one of my colleagues suggested that we spend a day doing some wine tasting around Williamstown, I had my doubts, but went along nevertheless.

I could not think that Williamstown would have any remarkable wines or wineries for that matter, and boy was I mistaken. I never realized that one of the wines I tasted even before my marriage was exported from Tomasello Winery, right here in Williamstown. Tomasello winery is a family owned winery that has been in the family for three generations and even won awards, which include a 2010 Winery of the Year.

This winery, which started producing its first wines back in 1933, is situated in Outer Coastal Plain AVA, with five wine tasting rooms from full-bodied blackberry wines, to semi-sweet white. We also went on to the Renault winery that started back in the middle 1800’s in France by Louis Renault. After he fled France and moved to California and New Jersey, his wine making continued in earnest. Today he is one of the country’s top wine makers.

Seven day Conference in Williamstown, NJ

Living in New York with simply so much to do, places to go and my super-busy life with three children and my husband keeping me busy, I was looking forward to a glorious time away from the family. Make no mistake I love them dearly, but I realized that I needed time away from them. When the opportunity came up from work about a week-long conference in Williamstown, I grabbed it with both hands.

Obviously I did not let on at home how glad I was about getting away, I am positive they would not have understood, my close friend were just as delighted. I have confided to close friends that I simply needed a break and that even though I would miss my children the most, I knew they were in safe hands. My husband is a hands-on father and my own mother lives with us too, much like having a live-in babysitter, as she loves to joke.

Thus packing and getting ready and even though I knew most of my time will be consumed by the conference itself, I knew I would have some fun time too. I did some research and already have a vague idea on things I would like to do while there. The conference was every other day thus would I have three days to myself to do absolutely anything my heart desired. There were four of us of the company that were going down and all arrangements was done for us with the events and conference coordinator.
