Hey, I saw you vet tech tag and was just wondering how you went about the profession. I'm in community college right now and I decided I'd like to be a vet tech but I have no idea how to go about the situation. Halp?

Do you have pets? That's how I got my job. One day while I was in with my dog I asked the doctor if they had any summer opportunities. She said no but during the school year they take interns. So senior year they selected me to be their intern, and at the end of the year they offered me a *paying* position. If you have pets just ask their doctor if they're hiring or know of anyone who is. In MD where I live there's no certification or anything you have to do to be a technician. Some states, like Virginia, require you to take a series of courses and get certified.
