Rose-Colored storm on Jupiter captured by Juno spacecraft [1080 x 758]
Sometimes I just like to be quiet. I’m not in my feelings. I’m not in a mood. nothing is wrong..I’m literally just enjoying and embracing the silence. Don’t take it personal I’m just chillin.
A parent saying to their child,
“you owe me because I feed you,”
is tantamount to them saying,
“I had a baby and then didn’t murder it through neglect, so it’s my slave.”
You don’t owe your parents for food to eat, clothes to wear, a bed to sleep in, not even toys and books, or activities like sports.
Because all of that is essential to a child’s physical, emotional, psychological, social, and developmental well-being. It’s normal for a parent to provide these things. It’s child neglect to fail to provide these things (not accounting for poverty or other circumstances beyond their control, such as famine or war).
Attempting to control their child by guilt-tripping them for providing the essentials is financial, emotional, and psychological abuse.
Say it louder for the people in the back
Say it louder for the fucked up parents in the back
Yesterday my mom said to me “you need to get your own car and make your own money cause im tired of doing everything for you” and like……im only 16 so…
@wethepotterheads0214 Ouch, I honestly hope that was some kind of sick twisted joke or just a passing remark due to mental crises, and not a genuine demand. My condolence for the later though.
As for the post….
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE GILT RIDDEN CHILDERN (All ages) AT THE BACK!!!!
My dad said this to me after my mom died. Not one of his better moments. Not his worst, though.
When I was in my early teens, my Mum told me point blank that I better not gain anymore weight because she wasn’t going to buy me anymore clothes. Now when I was 14 I was skinny as a rail but I was developing a large bust size and she loathed having to buy me new bras because my boobs kept getting bigger or my pant size changing bc my hips widened a little bit.
Cue a lifetime of unhealthy weight issues. I’ve done the pendulum swing of eating problems repeatedly throughout my life. I’ve starved myself skinny and hated myself. I’ve given in to eating habits of the depressed and gained weight, and I still hate myself. Not a single part of my body that I like really.
Oh, I also still don’t like clothes shopping or talking to my mother about clothes shopping either. Especially when she sees that I own anything new and the first question is, “How much did that cost you?”
Thanks Mum. Love you.
Listen.
You Do Not Owe Your Parents Anything
They owe you.
They brought you into this world. They owe you the best life they can give you because of that. You didn’t ask to be born.
They brought you into this world. You Did Not Ask To Exist.
They owe you.
Yes to this! ^^
And here’s the amazing and wonderful thing about children. They’ll bend over backwards to please you and shower you with love and affection if you give them even a basic amount of respect and love. Not because they owe it to you. Just because they want to.
