Kelsey listened as if it was going to be something really important he was going on about. But then she couldn’t help but let out a small laugh at his comment. “this damn traffic, control your road rage, Kay.” she teased squeezing his knee once more.” It was nice to have some alone time with the other male, some time they weren’t drunk or trying to fuck one another but real alone time. Time that they could talk and catch up in each others lives.

“I am fine with whatever, you are more familiar with this and the traffic here than I am. I am just leaving it all up to you.” she admitted “I have never been one to be picky about food. If it is edible then consider me down for it.” she laughed. “though some nice sushi rolls sound so good right now.”

A laugh left his mouth at her comment, it was nice that she knew she could joke back with him without a problem, but he really did have a little bit of road rage every so often. “I can’t promise that I won’t keep cursing up a storm on the road, all this idiots.” He responded with a small laugh. Aside from when they were drunk, he wasn’t rushing anything with her sober. He wanted to take it easy to see where they’d go.

“The traffic here is awful, but it’s actually horrible in Manchester in the Ashton area. Real pricks they are.” He muttered, hoping they would never come face to face with that kind of traffic. “I like the sashimi, but I’m used to calling it salmon so people who find it gross stare at me like I have three heads.”

“You couldn’t be a pain in the ass if you tried, I can deal with a lot, trust me.” she said giving his leg a little playful squeeze.  Kelsey was really glad they had decided to come out to London together. She had forgotten what it was like to go out and live again. Kayden was the type of guy that kept the girl on her toes, he knew her going and going and reminded who she really was. 

A smile came to her lips when she felt his hand place over top of hers. It was nice the skin to skin, even if it was just theirs hands. “I can totally get down on some sushi.” she said with a head nod.

“You know what is a pain in the ass though? The fucking roundabout. We’re going to avoid going near it, it might take a bit longer to get there but I really loathe that thing.” He said with a shake of his head. Kayden was glad they were getting some time out together while they were out of New York, he knew his family would jump at any opportunity to watch the twins so they could take advantage.

Kayden gave her a small smile and made a turn, making sure to take a detour to avoid the god awful roundabout. The traffic was always terrible ear it so he figured driving the extra minutes would be a hell of a lot more worth it. “I’m glad, I think I can eat just about anything right now.”

“You could never be a pain in the ass, so hush up.” she reassured him. “Of course I am not a airhead.” she corrected him. “We really do, I think we will make everyone jealous or at least turn heads.” she said squeezing his arm gently as she got in with him. 

She buckled up and rested her hand back over on his leg, this was nice. She had missed being this like with him. She knew things were different now but it didn’t mean it was actually bad to be different, in fact it was nice.  “in that case I have a feeling I will love it.”

“You know I could be the biggest pain if I wanted to be, don’t try to deny it.” He said in response. He knew she wasn’t an airhead but he did enjoy teasing her because that’s the type of relationship the both of them had with each other. Kayden tried not to dwell on the fact that they were no longer together but rather on that they were trying to patch things up.

Kayden moved one of his hands to rest on her while the other stayed on the wheel, he felt good being with her this way again. In his mind they were going on a friendly date if they could call it that. Though he did wonder how long it would be before they’d miss the kids, those two small children had him wrapped around their tiny fingers. “You like seafood, right?”

“Well, trying. Not alway successfully working.” She told him, taking her drink and thanking him for it. “I’m trying too. I mean, its hard to enjoy any day right now.”

“Why don’t you come get your mind off of it then? I think I can be a lot more useful then fetching you drinks. I happen to be quite the dancer if you didn’t know.”

Kelsey couldn’t help but laugh, “shut up, you are handsome and you don’t have to have a brand name to be.” she told him with a smile. “Yeah well we both know my type of shops are all owed to my parents. I grew up with expensive taste so I don’t know any other way.” she explained to the boy.”Right, and we both do look good. We will turn heads tonight, everyone will be so jealous.” she teased.

The brunette was pretty excited as to where on Earth the boy was going to surprise them. To be honest she half figured since they were all dress up he would take her to the local fast food joint. Which she would have been completely cool with of course. “I know, i’m sorry, I can’t help it.” she admitted shaking her head as she got in the car. “okay, well I am more than excited to find out.

“I know, I’m just being a pain in the ass because I seen the perfect opportunity to do so.” He said with a small smile on his face. “That’s not totally a bad thing because you aren’t an airhead, correct?” He asked with a teasing grin. “Oh definitely, we look like a million bucks. Or at least I think we come close to it.” Kayden said with a small chuckle. 

When they got into the car, he shook his head at her because he understood where she was coming from. Leaving her children alone was something she was sketchy about and he didn’t blame her but he knew they were safe and that they wouldn’t fuss all that much. “I think you’ll like it, I haven’t been there since I was younger but hopefully it hasn’t lost it’s class.” He said as he pulled out of the driveway.

Kelsey couldn’t help but laugh, “You are not going to look like Old Navy next to me,” She said shaking her head. “it is actually a Valentino, my father bought it for me for my birthday. It is a four thousand dollar dress that I personally wouldn’t have even paid a grand for. I have been debating on giving it away, but even though I hate the man, I can’t throw a perfectly good val away.” she admitted. “asides you look handsome, you don’t have to wear a Ford or Gucci suit to look nice.” she reassured the boy. “i’ve been living with middle class for a year, I grown used to non-designer outfits.” she laughed.

“That sounds perfect, I would love to be surprised, somewhere i’ve never been and a place that you lay the upper hand in when it comes to ordering.” she explained. “your sisters know to call if the twins get fussy or anything right?” she asked. Though she knew his sisters had basically helped raise their siblings but she still had that first time mother doubt in her mind. “i’m sorry, i swear to not talk about them the whole time.” she promised as she took his hand and walked out to the car.

“I’m at least sears,” he said with a teasing tone, he enjoyed teasing Kelsey more than he would be willing to admit to. “Valentina? I think the most expensive thing I own is those Jimmy Choo shoes you got my last year, the rest of my clothing is Adidas.” He said with a small laugh leaving his mouth. Though he never had a problem with Kelsey liking name brand things, except when she bought ugly items, he was honest. “But thank you, it’s only fair the both of us look good, right?” He questioned her with a small smile.

Kayden thought of the many places they could go, he knew London like the back of his hand which was great for him. They could end up just about anywhere. “Yes, they know to call if they get fussy. But I think the twins will be just fine for a few hours.” Kayden reassured. He took her hand gently as well as his keys and wallet before heading out and towards the car, it would take a few moments for him to remember to drive on the opposite side but the two of them would have fun. “I think I know where to go.”

Kelsey had loved all their memories, the good and even the bad because it took them down the paths they needed to be on. Sure she had hated herself at the time that things went awful with the two of them, but now with her two beautiful twins, she couldn’t be mad at him for picking a different path in his own life. Though it didn’t stop her from her constant wonders of what ifs- . She had needed the get away, needed time to clear her head and be reminded what it was like to have somewhat of a family, even if it wasn’t really hers. Kay’ss family had always been so accepting and loving towards her and now they were even more loving with her twins.

The thought of going out to a nice restaurant with Kayden made her smile, she felt like it was her chance to make up for their first date. The day she ran out on him and left him high and dry. She couldn’t imagine how embarrassing it was to him, and tonight she would try her best to make it up to him.She let him zip it up and she smiled. “i’ve actually never wore it. But I saw it with the tags on in my closet and I thought, what better time and vacation.” she pointed out. “um, it doesn’t matter, surprise me.” she said slipping on her shoes and grabbing her bag as she headed out his room. She detoured and gave the babies kisses as she waited on Kayden to join her.

He remembered just about everything the both of them had done together, except their marriage. Absolutely none of that came back to him but he figured that it was better left in the dark and it was good for them to start clean and fresh. Kayden considered Kelsey and the twins family and she knew that which made him feel a whole lot better about himself. He really had expected his family to feel a little weird since he and Kelsey had split but it was as if nothing had changed between the both of them. And for that he was extremely grateful, he loved her and the kids and loved the fact that his family was still welcoming as if it were the first time.

Kayden wasn’t quite sure what this was so he’d just keep referring to it as dinner, not wanting to put the female in an awkward spot of course. That was his fear in this very moment. The male swept his hair to the side and spritzed a little bit of cologne on himself, he wanted to look at least half decent. “I’m going to look like Old Navy next to you, the only actual designer name that is coming to my head is Gucci and YSL but the latter is hard to pronounce. So you’re placing Old Navy next to Gucci, and that’s offensive.” He joked lightly. Kayden followed right after her, pressing light kisses on the twins’ foreheads before heading outside. “How about I surprise you?”

“I spent far too much of my marriage worrying about Denver and losing myself, I just need a night for me.” She said handing her cup over to him.

“I’m glad that you’re putting yourself first, Haz. That’s what’s important.” He said before going to get her another drink. Coming back he handed it over and let a sigh leave his mouth. “Are you enjoying it so far?”

“You did a really good job. I had so much fun until I got freaked out. Everything was so perfect I just knew something shitty was going to happen. Of course I ruined it, but of couse you always made it better and saved the day when i would get freskee out.” She went on but a small smile formed her lips when he said our. Kelsey had to admit that she did feel slightly bad that her divorce wasn’t finalized yet and she was catching herself and her feelings coming back for the man next to her. She loved his family and they always made her feel more than at home even when she wasn’t with Kayden they still includes and spoke to her.

Kelsey nodded, “I haven’t been out on a nice little dinner date since before the twins. ” she admitted. “So going out and having a nice night sounds do able. Only if your sister doesn’t mind. I know shr offered but i just want to make sure she is cool with it.” She nodded. The brunette turned a big and took his hand, she smiled and leaned in and pressed the softed kiss on his cheek. “We love you, we all three love you so much.” She reassured him, “of course, let me just find something nice to wear. I don’t think I brought anything too fancy.” Then she pulled out a beautiful short black and pink laced dress. “This will do.” She quickly stepped out of the clothes she had on and slipped on the dress. “Zip me?” She said moving her hair for him.

The male chuckled lightly and nodded his head, he remembered when she freaked out and he drove her home feeling humiliated. Nonetheless he forgave and forget but it was still one of his favorite memories. He didn’t want to make her feel rushed into anything while she was in the process of getting a divorce, but he would soberly admit to wanting Kelsey all to himself, he wasn’t ashamed. The whole time they were going to be in London, he had a good feeling about it and he wasn’t going to regret it. 

Kayden smiled happily at her, he adored the fact that he was getting to be able to take her out for dinner for the first time in  long time. “Believe me, my sister really doesn’t mind.” A small smile took over his face when she pecked his cheek and shortly after she had got up to change so did he, he got dressed fairly quick. “I don’t think I’ve seen that dress before, but I like it.” He told her before going to zip the dress up in the back. “What kind of food do you want to go for?”

“I’m glad you’re trying though, that’s all that matters in this situation.” He said with a tiny nod before extending his hand for her cup. “I can go do that for you.”

“Do i remember? ” Kelsey said shaking her head. “Of course i remember. ” she went on. “You took me on my first real date,” she took the photo in her hand and smiled. “You were such shit on ice. I remember you acting like a big baby and needing help. It was a really nice night, before i got scared and ruined our dinner. ” the brunette went on “but in all fairness it was all new to me and no one ever wanted anything from me other than to sleep together, so i was nervous. ” she said letting her fingers move over the photo. “It feels like it was such a long time ago.” Though it really was only a little over a year she couldn’t help but feel like it was an eternity away. Kelsey handed the picture back over to him.

“I know, I feel like I won’t see the twins much at all this weekend because your sisters. ” she laughed. “Alright, i do suppose a nice night out to dinner might be nice. It will give your family some time with the kids.” Though she did feel a little bad that they were getting stuck with another man’s children. But luckily like Kayden his family made her and her children feel like they were just as much blood related as anyone else. “You know, thank you. For this, i really needed a nice get away and just i dont know. Thank you for just being there and accepting my children. ” she said softly. “I’m not trying to get all emotional. It just means a lot to me.”

“I nearly broke my ass and you were laughing the whole time, but I did all those things because I have never been more determined before in my life then I was to be with you to show you what a real date was like.” He said with a small smile, he had many photos of the both of them and never got rid of them, especially their Mexico photos. He absolutely loved those ones more than anything -- that was when they had admitted they actually loved each other for the first time. “Doesn’t it? But I’m glad you gave me a chance. Or we probably wouldn’t even be here right now spending time with our family.” He made sure to say our because together or not she was family. 

He couldn’t wait until Charlotte had children, she was big on kids but he knew she was making sure to finish university to even think about settling down. “We never did anything like that last time we were here, dinner would be nice.” Kayden told her, they would be more mature then they were last time, no drinking -- or at least no hard liquor, that was what got them in trouble the last time. “You know I think of them as my own, even if we aren’t together, I love your kids and I know they love me. I don’t have the intentions of replacing their dad but I do want to be there for all three of you.” He told her with a soft smile, and he wanted Kelsey’s brother to see that more than anything. “So, we’re definitely going out for dinner right?”

Kelsey nodded. “Of course, it’s so nice to see your family again and they looked so thrilled that you’re home. Well before the babies made tgeir appearance then your were pushed to the back burner.” She said with a laugh. “But yes I’ve missed the zoo so much. Your family is so welcoming. ” she explained. “I think we will have a lot of fun. Your sisters offered to watch the babies do we could go have dinner.” She pointed out. “But i hate to leave the babied with them, i didnt come hete to pawn them off on anyone. ” she said walking back to the room.

Making back to his room with all her and the kids luggage. “Are you sure you don’t mind us crashing in here? I feel awful making you give up your bed for us. ” the brunette went on as she began to unpack some of the babies things. “I really don’t mind us taking the spare. ” she reassured him as she took a seat on the edge of the bed. “So many memories. ” she said looking around with a soft laugh. She loved remembering of all the times and memories they had of her coming to visit his family with him.

“But I love the babies so sharing the spotlight isn’t half as bad.” He said with a small laugh. He would admit that his family was quite wild but he wouldn’t trade them for the world, they were more welcoming and loving than any other family he has ever known. “Dinner does sound good though doesn’t it?” Kayden questioned her before bumping her gently. “You should know by know this family runs off little monsters. That’s my sisters practically begging to babysit.” He pointed out in amusement before helping her get settled into his bedroom. 

A small shrug came from him at her words, he didn’t mind taking the guest room for their trip. He figured she’d be more comfortable being in a familiar room. “No, you guys stay in here.” He told her with a nod of his head. She was right though, they had many memories and the last time they were in England together they were reckless and got married. But it was safe to say that they were very much more mature now. “Do you remember this?” He asked her, picking up a photo from one of their first dates when they’d went ice skating. A smile was on his face as he looked at everything, though he did reach out to put the photos of him and Noah face down. His room stayed untouched. “So would you want to go out to dinner with me?”
