It’s a very silly situation; From the combined sci-fi bullshit of Fisttrick and (I think?) Fistinas sweat with some sort of acid and the fumes it makes melting stuff messing with Rooks head in that way, to the fact there’s apparently no filter or safeguards between the vent that leads from the prison block to Rooks personal living accommodations on base to stop a chemical weapon from easily getting around base— it’s a bunch of bullcrap but Plot Will Plot.

Like Plumber security is horrid with the breakouts and infiltrations they have but Jesus Christ my guy—

As for his look; Iconic. Also I love the implication that Rook actually has that fucking mane of hair hiding as just being slicked back in pattern with his stripes.

And I’m never gonna complain seeing Rook without his armor. We only see him disguised with a hat and cloak over his armor, wearing the Fistrook look, or in the second to last episode as Magistratus decades into the future. We never see the man in much of anything else so literally anything else is a treat to see. Plus we see his sleepwear (man sleeps in his underwear) so we actually get a good look at his fur pattern and stripes, even seeing a lot of angles of his room on base.

Would I have ever done it as a writer? Hell no, the situation was extra stupid and I’d try to come up with better than “Inhaled sweat fumes” if I was doing a plot blurb where a character starts acting like another due to some temporary influence. Do I hate this episode or think of writing it out of my own rewrite? Hell no, it’s a stupid cringey blast and lets me see tiny details we get literally nowhere else in the 79 other episodes.
