ryden tully
Of course he knew he would marry one of the Stark girls, that much had been said and written down on paper, but which one had yet to be decided and that had given him a sort of peace of mind, it was a way to avoid the reality of the situation. However it was short lived and when Lianne had been brought forward he could’ve swore all color had been drained off his face, his soul had left his body and his heart was chocking him stuck in his throat. While neither of the girls would’ve been his preferred choice being betrothed to the blonde of the Stark made it all the worst. Lianne was her brothers apple of his eye, where he went she was sure to follow, and unfortunately for all the parties involved Ryden was very much aware he would not make the innocent girl happy. He could offer her a tittle, a more than comfortable life, she would be taken care just as she had been all her life. But he would never give her his heart.
His duties called for him to be up earlier, he brushed his messy hair away from his face as he walked down the halls, sleep face still on, eyes barely open. Oh but they opened as he bumped into someone and he saw the curls bounce in the air. He almost slapped himself literally at the thought of had been able to avoid her if he had not let himself be wrapped in his sheets for a bit longer. “Your grace,” he gave her a bow of his head, stern voice. How everything had changed so quickly.
oceanic optics remain locked on his lighter ones and for a moment, the shock that had taken over her features disappears and her insides churn with anger. light gaze tearing away from him and to the wall behind him. the selfish part of her had always hoped he would wed serena, leaving her to fall in love to whoever her heart desired. the selfless part in her, however, was glad that her twin still held that freedom to choose within her palms. and yet, she was still mad. mad that the least emotionally available lord in all of the lands had been promised to her. mad that her brother would agree to have her leave winterfell so soon. it didn’t take a genius to know that her anger with brandon was as short lived as the exposure of a single green grass on the north’s ground. lianne would never hold it against him, she just couldn’t.
as ryden addresses her, lianne’s gaze flickers away from the stone covered walls to meet the ground as her knees bent in a far too perfected curtsy. ❝ my lord. ❞ there was an irony to her tone. one that could only be described as petty. not that she would ever admit to it. and she makes no move to stay, pointed sky like hues finding the wall once more. it’d be rude to walk around him, they both knew it. especially now that they were officially betrothed. and so her next words are as petty as her tone, unable to help herself. ❝ i would hate to bother you. ❞
