Anything to do with Croatia ever: *happens*
Tumblr:
@one-time-i-dreamt
Me when I get summoned to another post about Croatia:
I promise you that no one in Croatia knows who I am
I don't know who Mark is but 6'4 is pretty tall!
Iâm glad my silly badly edited meme has ended with one-time-I-dreamt dot tumblr dot com being declared a certified prophet in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ
Thank you to all involved, but especially tall mark
I can assure you markiplier is not tall
He is taller than me!
âhe killed peopleâ yeah and what about it? Itâs his most charming attribute
Some good olâ unhinged Kaz Brekker (+ridiculous doodles). Hats off to Freddy Carter for slaying it this season, just nonstop outstanding performance!
it NEEDS to be paid for accordingly.
This is so important
i want to show some fucking appreciation for amita suman. inej was most likely forced to strip in front of clients while at the menagerie. and i think amitaâs acting shows that, her facial expressions in this scene show that sheâs thinking of the last time she had to do this, thereâs a hardness in her expression. but when she sees the kaz is turned away, his eyes averted, her gaze softens
can someone just give me $500 real quick? i want to buy a pride kilt and never wear it because i don't go outside
i would look so fucking hot
no its like $120 or something i just need the rest for me <3
Please enjoy this updated meme:

benoit blanc: brutus, surely there ah bettah ways of settlin' an argument than stabbin' a man. but you didn't want to come to an ahgreement, did you? you're tellin' me you just went in with your knives out?
"came back wrong" this "lived wrong" that, what about dying wrong. my death will forever cling to you, leaving behind a slimy trail and a metallic taste in your mouth. my soul will forever drag you down like the heavy corpse of a long-dead god, who somehow still grants wishes. you can't tell which one of us is the one not letting go. you know not even your own death will end this.
dont do this to me
people are already reblogging this with their blorbos im doomed
Adding âTiktok Mary Poppins cosplayer respond to allegations that he was wearing a Third Reich medal in his latest fit by coming out as the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler complete with past life memories before his entire social media prescence was nuked with the sole exception of their egg-laying kink spotify playlistsâ to the internet sentences treasure vault. Amid all the societal decay we still got it boys.
Get in! No time to explain!
Every other social media: Thatâs old news!
Tumblr: Itâs back!!!
âRecycleâ implies that there isnât enough content and we have to dig into the bin and bring things back to keep it entertaining around here. Which is the opposite of whatâs happening. Old posts doing the rounds is like having a shared funny story among old friends: maybe youâve heard the story before, but itâs still fun to hear it again and we all canât wait to share it with people whoâve forgotten it or who havenât heard it before.
Listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me.
I know there is a lot of discourse (tm) around this right now but listen to me
sometimes you do just have to lie to children.
If, when my toddler is, you know, toddling around saying âmama? Big ball?â
If I were lean down and say âunfortunately the big beach ball for some reason fills you with such an unadulterated rage that is beyond human comprehension that you scream until you pass out, so mama had to remove the beach ball from the premises until you can better regulate your emotionsâ she would simply stare at me like I had 3 heads full of equal betrayal.
So, for now, instead âbig ball went night night!â
Please understand when I say âremoved the ball from the premisesâ I mean I popped it in a fit of exhausted confusion. I murdered the beach ball.
See Iâve lied to you all too and it was better this way.
Turns out, 2000 was 20 years ago. Which is odd, since 1980 was also.
The thing Gen-Z really needs to understand is that no one older than them is ever going to be able to estimate time correctly because the Millennium.
The Millennium will always be Not That Long Ago. Everything since the Millennium will always be, in some sense, ânewâ.
It just broke us, OK? It was too big and weâll never quite be able to deal.
Was the real millennium bug inside us all along?
yep.
I think at least part of this is that pop culture has gotten such a longer shelf life over the past 20 years.
You can listen to a Top 40 station now and hear a song from 10 years ago easily, even songs from the 80s or 90s on special occasions (which might just be the Nineties at Noon or whatever every single day).
A Top 40 station in the 80s? Played the current fucking Top 40 and that was it. You were lucky if you heard a song that was one year old, definitely never ten. I was born in 1979 and heard almost no music from before I was born until high school or college. If you wanted to hear anything older than a year, you had to listen to a classic rock (late 60s to 70s) or oldies (50s to early 60s) station. There was nothing earlier than that on the radio.
A restaurant was playing What a Feeling, from 1983. 28 years before my son was born. Thatâs the equivalent of hearing a song from 1951 in the late 80s, which just did not happen. Even for an oldies station, it was hard to find anything that old.
VCRs were just getting big in the mid-80s, but there was a limited selection of videos you could buy (or even rent) for them. Most video rental stores didnât bother to stock TV shows, it just wasnât worth it. (Few shows were even released on VHS.)
So you could generally watch recent movies and âclassicsâ but if you were looking for some random movie from the mid-70s - thatâs only ten years previous - you were mostly out of luck. Imagine looking for a movie from 2006 right now, and you can find maybe the top-grossing ones and a few that won Oscars, but Night at the Museum? The Devil Wears Prada? Youâre shit outta luck. Thatâs what it would have been like looking for movies from 1976 in 1989.
So for those of us who grew up in the 80s and early 90s, pop culture had a hard limit of about a decade, if that. By the late 90s, the internet was good enough that music was starting to stretch that, but you still couldnât really get video through the internet and DVDs were still catching up in terms of what was available. You didnât really get entire seasons of TV on DVD until the early 00s - the first season of The Simpsons, which aired in 1989, wasnât released on DVD until 2001.
Anyhow, I think thatâs why a lot of older millennials and Gen Xers are having trouble wrapping our heads around the idea that the year 2000 was almost 20 years ago. Because we grew up in a world where if you heard a song regularly, or watched a movie or a TV show that wasnât late-night reruns, it had probably been released within the past 5 years, and almost definitely within the past 20. Our brains havenât quite gotten used to hearing a new song followed by a 30-year-old song on the radio and not just being able to find any decade-old movie at will but seeing gifs of decade-old movies almost daily. Our brains think that means those things must still be new.
I have never heard anyone explain it so clearly before. And I LIVED it.
Some Jewish kids go to Narnia and the White Witch is endlessly frustrated because she wants to make it always winter but never Hanukkah, but she doesnât follow the Hebrew calendar so she canât accurately predict when itâs supposed to be.
I was going to scroll past this but then I stopped to think about it and now I just have to ask:
would Elijah show up in this version of the story to give the kids swords and wine?
âBut why wonât you give me a weapon?â asked Lucy.  âIâm sure I could fight if I needed to.â
âBecause you have not yet reached the age of bat mitzvah,â said the prophet.  âI would not place such responsibility upon you before our laws count you as ready.â
Happy first night of Hanukkah, Narnia!
also absolutely hate when people say "this is set a million years from now and there's still racism and homophobia? #problematic" and then you read it and it's a scathing and concise yet meticulous examination of our current views on race and gender and sexuality. you don't understand what the point of science fiction is. escapism is not the pinnacle of the written form that all genre fiction should aspire to. you're annoying me
the fantastical setting allows for the writer to make our current day issues larger than life and therefore more easily examined and deconstructed. in genre fiction fantasy is often used as a microscope and through it we can try to better understand what's gone so wrong with us in the modern day, we can try to point to the cancer in the cells. it's natural to want to escape sometimes (i love a good romcom for example) but you do need to confront a mirror every once in a while. the solution to your pain is not to bury your head in squeecore. sorry i said squeecore
