To all genderfluid who have to go to work and get forced to be in that frozen state all the time, that doesn't fit, I see you. To all the genderfluid people who have to go to work, and wear uniforms or work clothes that make them appear as only one gender. I see you. To all genderfluid people who were so excited to finally be an adult:tm and live their gender fully, and express themselves in life, only to feel like being put back in that same awful stagnant place, I see you. And I'm sorry. And you're still genderfluid. And I hope it gets better

Swans and butterflies

Sometimes gender is a butterfly and sometimes it's a swan. And it's okay. Maybe for a lot of people, gender is kind of like the ''ugly duckling'' story. They were always a swan, they just didn't know the signs. They've never been anything other than a swan and that's all there is to it. They just needed to grow into an adult swan. But it's also okay if your gender is more like a caterpillar. It was a caterpillar, then it went into a chrysalis, and then it turned into a butterfly. The caterpillar was not a butterfly, and the butterfly is not a caterpillar. It's okay if you grew into something you were not, if you changed. If the you before is a caterpillar in its own right while you're a butterfly. The world is big enough for swans and butterflies

nothing has been more important to my being queer than when i went to my first pride parade, got seperated from my group, had a panic attack about it and was sitting on the side of the road holding a tiny genderfluid flag and freaking out. then this six foot five drag queen in four inch heels appeared from literally nowhere and sat down next to me. i, this scared-shitless trans bi kid at pride for the first time, very nervously told her she looked pretty and i told her my name and that i got lost and didn't feel like i should be at pride and she held my hand and said "oh, honey, everybody deserves to be here, especially you. pride is for everybody who's ever gotten lost, who's been scared of who they are or where they are. you think we never been scared before? pride's for you, honey, because you're scared. you don't have to be proud right now, but you're gonna be one day, honey, i'm sure of it."

i found my group soon after that and i never saw that queen again but to this day i am convinced i met an angel.

so yeah. pride is for you. pride is for all of us.

You're the only person who get to decide which gender expressions fits *your* gender. You can look like whatever you want for whatever gender you want. No chest? Yes chest? Makeup? No makeup? Long hair? Short hair? middle hair? Facial hair? None? Dress? suits?

All of it, is yours to decide if it fits your gender expression, and only you. Even if people think your expression is unintuitive or contradictory. It's not up for them to decide.

What's important is that you're happy, and that you feel good with your expression🤍

Personal ramble both positive and a lil negative incomming//

Yesterday I received the letter of confirmation that my legal name change application was finally accepted after more than six months of procedures, and back and forth. And I was so, so happy about it, had almost lost hope for it.

On the other hand, my mom, who despite being supportive of the process and helped with some of the proofs and documents I needed, still voiced how she didn't like that I changed my first name.

I think if I had to say something about the whole experience is: Your name(s) is/are your businesses only. Some people won't like it, while others will be in your dms shouting you out and celebrating with you, but at the end of the day, your name is your identity, and no matter what everyone else feels about it, you get to choose, you get to be happy about it, to be proud, to celebrate!

And I wish for every trans people out there to be able to do just that, to live by their name(s) and feel joy and comfort. And if those 6 months+ of procedure have taught me something, is that we're not quite there yet. Procedures are often too long, difficult, disheartening and sometimes dehumanizing, and trans people deserve so much better. I'll be celebrating that win, but I won't let it make me forget that we don't get all that, and that if we do, it's through effort and pain. And I'll do my best through my life, to make sure that our rights get better, that our existences get respected, so that every tans person after me gets to have better opportunities than I have, so that one day we all get to be happy, all of us Love you all, and take care🤍
