Leonard turned one on February 4th!
Freshly groomed.
Double high five! My papa’s dog is so sweet and cute. I love her!
Some recent photos!
@gertythecorgi Lenoard
We now have ornaments of all of our babies!! I love this one of Leonard. That goofy boy! 😍😍😍
Day 11: Corgi in costume. HIPPOGERT!
When she was just a beeb!!!
CORGULA!
Your yearly dose of CORGULA!
It's Gert with Gert!
Before and after I told him he was a good boy. ❤️
We believe that there’s no timeline when it comes to loss and that there’s no moving on from it because you never really “get over” it. All you can really do is move forward (rather than move on). Scout was a once-in-a-lifetime dog and simply irreplaceable. Losing her was heart wrenching. But as devastating as that loss was, we knew we would someday open our hearts again to another corgi.
We didn’t expect to be ready this soon, but someone recently told me that “the world finds a way to bring us the dog we need. They find their way to us.” We truly feel that Scoutie led this precious pup to us and we are so glad to welcome her to our family.
And so, in keeping with our literary theme, please welcome Huffle. She solemnly swears she is up to no good. ⚡️
We love her already. ❤️⚡️
A couple of weeks ago, some very dear friends of ours got together and created this t-shirt campaign – Team Scoutlife – for us to help raise funds for Scout’s cancer treatments. Unfortunately, timing wasn’t ideal as it went live the day before we ended up having to let Scout go. We were able to raise some funds before we took down the campaign.
We’ve decided to relaunch the campaign with two new goals: 1) to help us raise funds for final veterinary costs that were not covered by our insurance, and 2) to raise money to donate to the National Canine Cancer Foundation and to the Animal Cancer Foundation, both in her loving memory.
This campaign features exclusive corgi art by our dear friend, the incredibly talented Amanda Conrad. The artwork is inspired by one of my favorite lines from To Kill A Mockingbird, where Scout Finch says: “Pass the damn ham, please.”
These shirts (or tote bag) would make an excellent gift for anyone – pet or person – currently battling cancer. These items will ship as soon as they’re ordered (rather than when the campaign has ended).
The corgi community has been incredibly kind to us all these years and especially during this extremely difficult time. We’ve read all the comments, messages, emails and your words and thoughts mean the world to us. It has been extremely touching to see just how loved Scout was. If you’re interested in contributing to the campaign, head on over to the campaign page. Sharing this post would be greatly appreciated as well.
Thank you. <3
I love that you still use that icon! Thank you💕
No, thank you!!! It's one of my favorite things ever!!!
Send help! Dad is doing a cuddle.
PUPDATE: Gert loves toilets and Leonard has been busy making friends.
When Scoutsby met (cardboard) gertythecorgi. (And Scout surprisingly didn’t try to eat cardboard Gert.)
One of my favorite days, ever.
Our sweet girl got her angel wings yesterday.
She put up a brave BRAVE fight, but in the end, the cancer was just too aggressive. She was - and will forever be - a bright light in our lives. She was a spitfire of a girl, wickedly clever, and tenacious through and through; she really was the furry version of her literary namesake.
Scoutie, mahm and dad love you SO much and will miss you something FIERCE every single day of our lives. ❤️
I had the pleasure of meeting Gatsby and Scout at corgi beach day and it was one of my favorite things ever. I loved watching Scout grow up online and seeing her personality shine through. I hate that she was taken far too soon. It's so hard to lose a pet and it's so hard to watch another pet grieve. Sending so much love to Gatsby and his mahm and dad. ❤️ Rest easy, Scout. You will be missed so much.
