We have always wished for their development and welfare.Whenever there have been differences of opinion, we have always tried to ensure that those differences never turned into a dispute.We never provoke anyone, but we also do not compromise with the integrity and sovereignty of our country.Whenever it was needed, we have demonstrated our strength, proving our capabilities in protecting and defending the integrity and sovereignty of the country.Sacrifice and endurance are part of our national character, but at the same time bravery and valour are also equally a part of it.I want to assure the Nation that the sacrifice made by our soldiers will not go in vain.India's integrity and sovereignty is supreme for us, and no one can stop us from defending it.Nobody should have any iota of doubt about this.India wants peace. But on provocation, India will give a befitting reply.The country will be proud of the fact that our soldiers have been martyred while they were fighting. I urge all of you to pay homage to these sons byobserving two minutes of silence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown that was imposed from March 24 midnight. Prime Minister Modi announced a Rs 20 lakh crore economic package to deal with the Covid-19 and emerge out of it.PM Modi did not give any details of the package. He said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would announce th details of the package. “It will empower various different sectors of the society. Rs 20 lakh crore package in 2020 will speed up India’s journey to become self-reliant,” PM Modi said in his address to the nation.At his meeting with chief ministers on Monday, PM Modi had indicated that the lockdown may be extended but this extension would be very different from the last three versions in its spread and the permitted relaxations.“I am of the firm view that the measures needed in the first phase of lockdown were not needed during the 2nd phase and similarly the measures needed in the 3rd Phase are not needed in the fourth,” he told the chief ministers.In the third version of the lockdown, the government had classified 319 districts as the green zones and allowed almost every economic activity. In the 284 districts placed in the orange zone and the 130 districts in the red zones, there were some restrictions on movement of people and traffic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds the first round of meeting with chief ministers on Tuesday to assess the current situation amid the coronavirus pandemic. The chief minister of union territories, northeast states, hill states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and opposition-ruled states including Punjab, Jharkhand, Kerala and Chhattisgarh will meet Modi today. "Timely decision have helped India to contain COVID-19 spread," said Modi while interacting with the chief ministers. It was the sixth round of meeting that Modi would hold with chief ministers ever since the pandemic started. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his strong resolve to regain the economy’s growth momentum and asked for industry inputs for ‘more structural reforms’ his government is determined to undertake, in its effort to facilitate the country’s ‘growth-oriented, big take-off’. “For us the meaning of reforms is the boldness to take decisions and persist with them till the logical end,” Modi said, addressing the Confederation of Indian Industry’s 125th annual session, via video conference.Listing out the steps taken by his governments over the years like the insolvency code, GST and bank mergers to bolster the economy’s productive capacity and the reform measures announced recently in the areas of agriculture produce marketing and coal mining, Modi said these long-pending reforms were among the ones the country appeared to have abandoned due to their apparent intractability. The prime minister asserted: “Yes, we will definitely get our growth back… India will get its growth back”.

Prime Minister stressed that products are made in India but for the world and imports are reduced on his vision of Atma-Nirbhar Bharat. He said, more than 53,000 crore rupees of financial assistance given under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Scheme of free ration to poor and migrant workers.

The Prime Minister said the reforms in the coal sector are a great way to make Eastern and Central India, and the tribal belt the pillars of development. He said there are 16 aspirational districts in the country which have large reserves of coal but have not benefited the local people as much as they should have. He said reforms and investment in this sector will play a huge role in making lives easy for the poor and tribal people.

The Prime Minister said that in 2014, coal linkage was introduced to provide impetus to the coal sector. He said that India has taken a major decision to fully open the coal and mining sector for increased competition, capital, participation and technology. He added that care has been taken to ensure that the new players in the private mining sector do not face the problem of finance. He stressed that self-reliance is not possible without a strong mining and mineral sector as the two are important pillars of our economy.
