Looking for people interested in recreating worlds from across the Sims series in The Sims 2!
So I've been planning a save file of my own where I create my own version of the Sims canon - that's why I began working into making my Willow Creek recreation but I realized this tiny project was a bit TOO ambitious considering there aren't many of those available, and life has been a bitch lately (I'm still grieving my partner's death and also starting a new semester tomorrow but I'm using the little energy I have to make this post) so I would definitely need a whole team to accomplish my plan. dystopianam has a great list here and here but there are still plenty of Sims worlds missing.
I was talking about this plan with someone @ OpenSO and they ended up being the little push I needed for this idea to come to light hahah
We could make a Discord server or something to plan everything: SC4 maps, builds, Sims, stats, etcetera. Something like the Hood Building Group when they made the Stories neighborhoods recreations, but with the rest of the franchise.

That's quite a lot, yes. If you're looking for somewhere to start, I'd rather prioritize the mainline games first before tackling the console ports and spin-offs.
My idea is to make the resources needed to create one biiig save containing recreations of every neighborhood in the franchise and also give players the ability to mix-n-match whatever neighborhoods they want.
So yeah, thank you for your time reading this post lol, I know it's a lot of info to digest and it'll probably take a while for someone to actually be interested in my project, but better now than never.
I've always loved playing with premades more than making my own sims, so when I randomly got the urge to play in Monte Vista, I knew exactly who I'd be moving in!
This younger version of the Smith family is hoping to have a fresh start somewhere far, far away - with Jenny continuing her medical career, while Pol takes care of the kids and plans to start his own nectar and pizza restaurant.
Their first morning after moving in was spent taking care of the new garden, helping baby Jill learn to talk, and taking the first steps into the skill of painting.
Download: metal walls and floors (with textures from Castaway Stories)
2 floors: 2x2, 4 simoleons, available in Other. Texture: 512x512 pixels.
4 walls: 2 sets, 4 simoleons, available in Paneling. Texture: 256x512 pixels.
The two floors are the same except for the direction. The reason I chose to do this despite the game having the ability to rotate floors is that, for an unknown reason, some ceiling tiles will revert back to the original direction sometimes. And for buildings with curved or otherwise non-flat floors, such as the quonset pictured, replacing the tiles is not a quick task. So having the two directions available from the start prevents that issue.
Textures were extracted from the broken metal hut in The Sims Castaway Stories.
I am really excited for a real mod for playing famous sims, that's the only thing I feel is missing from the sims. What features can you say will 100% be implemented?

The features that I can say will definitely make it in are the ones that are already in progress:
Fame as an opt-in system in addition to (not replacing) a Sim’s job.
Acting, fashion and music options expanded so your Sim can get famous doing just one of them, if that’s what you’d prefer.
Fame points added to Maxis objects. For example, selling a masterpiece from the easel will give your Sim fame points.
Easy extensibility so modders can add fame gain/loss to their own creations.
Extended “The Superstar Report” magazine with the who’s hot list and celebrity gossip.
Fame socials - Celebrities can sign autographs, take selfies with fans, brag about how famous they are, etc. Sims will react to celebrities in a way that makes sense, e.g. if they’re grumpy and have no interest in entertainment, you won’t see them fangirling.
Trait support - 3T2 and 4T2 traits will affect outcomes.
Things I intend to add but haven’t started yet:
VIP venue doors with a bouncer who can be persuaded to let your Sim in if they’re not famous enough.
Reputation will matter - Sims with a good reputation will get more opportunities while Sims with a bad reputation risk getting cancelled.
Events using the scenario system (like the headmaster visit but for celebs).
New LTW for fortune and popularity Sims to become a Superstar.

There are other ideas in my notebook - these are just the ones I am confident about. But there’s a heatwave right now and I’m not turning my computer on until the temperatures are more reasonable.
Hi, I am back from a hiatus. No, this project is not dead, but I got obsessed with it again. Juggling work, other games, getting into politics and religion, learning spanish, as well as planning a visit with my closest friend have definitely caused me to not focus on this. I'm currently caught between two important points of development: lot building and writing lore.
Thankfully, it's easy for me to write what is, ultimately, playable fanfiction. I need to write sim bios, household bios, storytelling slides, and taking pictures for said slides. I love Veronaville and it's always a little brainworm for me.
The harder part, and a big demotivator, is building lots. I am not a good builder, but I do think I am an okay decorator. I need to revamp every lot and add many new lots. I have my own vague vision for what the general vibe will look like, but even then, I just hate building lmao
I try to be as vanilla as possible, but there are a few CC that are just absolutely necessary, and it is like 95% build/buy CC.
Another thing is that I want to write a little prequel story that sets up all you need to know before you load into the neighborhood. This is gonna be the thing I focus least on until the project is close to ending. I'd want it to be in the style of emperor of the dark's story made in the Twine engine !

All in all… life here is pretty calm and peaceful!

The game describes them as troublemakers. Well, so far everything has been pretty calm — even with their relationship being lower than average. The only exception? Almeric’s burning desire to join a fraternity.
Aldric, on the other hand, is still trying to step out of his brother’s shadow — and trust me, that will happen sooner or later. As for his love life… let’s just say he doesn’t stand much of a chance. Not even the powerhouse athlete Millie Woods could be persuaded.
What’s really interesting here is the gameplay dynamic: a two-minute-older, veteran, popular brother versus his nerdy sibling. Drama is basically guaranteed.
That said, it doesn’t look like the rivalry will last too long — the fraternity will be holding new auditions for Oresha-Hoh-Var soon, so the twins might have bigger things to worry about.

Hey simblr! I'm trying to archive as many fics from Sims_anon (smutty simsfic community from Livejournal) as possible! Livejournal is headed down the toilet, and I would deeply appreciate some assistance. I currently have a few fics backed up on my mobile phone as PDFs - which I will be uploading on either Simfileshare (they're Sims fanfiction, after all) or Mega.NZ (which has an open adult content policy). Because of the nature of this community (being an anonymous kink meme), I hope that if you're the author of any of these fanfics and you still have copies on your old hard drives, that you can mirror them to AO3. I've tried to contact the Open Doors project several times to get Sims_anon saved, but because most of the moderators or owners are no longer very active here, I've had no luck getting anything archived.
