Zoldyck family name meanings

I was browsing a Japanese HXH forum the other day and someone pointed out something REALLY interesting about the Zolydyck children’s names (besides the fact that their naming convention is just a game of shiritori, lol.)

If you give the names a reading in kanji, the meanings are very telling:

illumi / いるみ / 居る to exist (as a person)

milluki / みるき / 見る to watch, to look at it (ie “watching tv”, “looking at a computer screen”)

killua / きるあ / 斬る to kill

alluka / あるか / 有る to exist (as an object)

kalluto / かると / 刈る to cut, to clip, to shear

I’m… getting really emotional about Alluka’s name…….. and I’m so mad that it’s in direct contrast with Illumi’s…. that piece of shit.

Anyway I just found this very interesting and wanted to share it with everyone so you can be upset with me too!!

Big Bang 1N2D Parody, Big Show 2010

These words are so important to me as a VIP and as someone who looks up to Jiyong (and Big Bang as a whole). This was 5 years ago and it spoke so much about what they’ve always shown us, and 5 years later... this year, GD stays true to his word. It’s almost like a promise. My therapist told me something meaningful yesterday, she said “It’s important to remember that when you’re depressed you have to nurse yourself and be extra gentle towards yourself. Just like an athlete wouldn’t break an ankle then force themselves to run that ankle. They rest as it heals and do not think “I am a failed athelete” they think, “right now something isn’t working so i’ll take care of myself until it does.“ 

Just like a broken bone, depression can change the way your daily life plays out, and pushing yourself too hard and getting frustrated when you don’t feel better is just like trying to run on that broken ankle and getting frustrated when it doesn’t heal.
