      He keeps up with her with messages. Updates her on his travels to other regions and tells her when to keep the television on to catch him in the spotlight. Finally, he’s to return from Sinnoh to meet with her at Littleroot and with it he brings a surprise. The day arrives and no sooner does he get home to visit with his parents when he’s off to see her again. She’s the first thing on his mind and the gift Birch presents him with before he leaves makes for an exceptional surprise. 

      It’s perfect! He thinks as he takes the steps two at a time and makes his way over to May’s home. Already he’s ready to show her his accomplishments in Sinnoh, wants to tell her of the journey he’s had in the cold region and how utterly different it all is from Hoenn itself. He knows she’ll love to see all the pictures he’s taken on his PokeNav and to see the very ribbons he’s earned there. 

      He knocks on the door a few times to announce he’s there and when he’s greeted by her mother he can only smile and make small talk with her before being told May is in her room. He climbs the stairs to her room and only knocks twice before cracking her door open and peeking inside. 

      “Sapphire? I’m home and you didn’t even notice!” He’s quick to tease her, a grin spreading wide across his features as he pushes the door open and steps inside, eyes bright as he tsks her. “What are you doing all cooped up in here, anyway?”
