So I’m seeing a common theory around that goes that Dabi intends to either a) murder-suicide Endeavor, or b) perform a suicide by Endeavor to make Endeavor look even worse.
And I believe that, but I also don’t think it’s going to happen the way Dabi’s planning. I’ve mentioned before but I believe it’s far more likely, for various narrative purposes, for Endeavor to die sometime soon and for Dabi to live & stay active to around the end of the series.
So as a kind of side-theory to that theory, here’s how I think things are gonna go down: Dabi’s fighting Shoto & Endeavor and burning himself up overusing his super powerful quirk. How I think the plan is gonna go wrong is that Shigaraki is going to fully wake up and interfere, either by granting Dabi Super-Regen to heal his wounds or personally saving him and taking over the fight (heck, maybe both). From there the tides will turn as either Dabi can safely use his full power, or Shigaraki will overpower Endeavor and finally kill him (and then we could maybe get an arc based around him kill-stealing there). Either way, I must insist that Shigaraki get one last line about “heroes hurt their families to help strangers” to Endeavor now that everyone knows how much that applies to him.
Or to put more broadly; I think Dabi’s going to get saved by Shigaraki or another PLF member (I would happily accept Compress) and end up coming out of his vengeful suicide attempt alive and having accomplished more than he could’ve imagined. And then he’ll have to figure out where to go from there.
