Actually no. I just swipe my thumb and can find thousands of posts alone that either ridicule white people for simply being white. Or a post about how if your male you are born an automatic rapist. It’s really easy to be mad in the good old world. But the best part of it all Is that recently I haven’t even had to get on tumblr to feel this hate. It’s just everywhere now. When I explain cultural misappropriation to children, I use the example of The Nightmare Before Christmas.  

It’s effective because especially for children, who don’t have enough historical context to understand much of the concept, you can still fully grasp the idea.  

There was nothing wrong with Jack seeing the beauty and differences in Christmas town, it’s when he tried to take what is unique about Christmas town away from those it originally belonged to without understanding the full context of Christmas things is when everything went wrong.

When Jack tries to get the folk of Halloween town to make Christmas gifts for children, etc., children understand that the Halloween town folk do not have the full context for the objects they are making, and they are able to see that the direct repercussions and consequences are very harmful.

The original dril tweet was posted in May 2012

And Google Trends indicates that this is a rarely searched term, and never searched before the dril tweet

This would seem to indicate that this iconic phrase did, in fact, originate with dril and not beforehand, and I think that’s beautiful because future generations will learn about this literary masterpiece that came from Twitter
