Tony Stark and Bruce Banner
Wow. Both of these fanfics could truly be set in the current canon MCU and be flawless in terms of continuity and characters, and the best part about them is they both feature Tony/Bruce or Science Bros or whatever you want to call them. My personal favorite out of these two is the second one but they are both pretty good 1. Title: Laboratory Conditions. Author: aftersoon (not boldly) Summary: The idea was just to give Tony a little push. Tags: Slash, Unintentional Matchmaking, Jealousy, First Time, Romance, First Avengers Movie My Thoughts: This features a very funny yet realistic depiction of Stark and Cap's dueling relationship, and how they don't really get along but learn to work together, as well as Bruce Banner's slight awareness of how Tony Stark likes him and appreciates him and is closer to him than say, Thor, and the other Avengers, but it still has that air that Bruce has of being self-deprecating and writing things off where he won't fully acknowledge, even to himself, his "friendship"/bromance with Tony and how Mr. Stark is actually pretty fond of him. Tags: Tony Stark/Bruce Banner, Pre-Slash My Thoughts: This one features an even more subtle Tony Stark that is soooo realistic it's amazing, (like I can actually picture him doing and saying everything he does here). This fanfic is basically set sometime after the first Avengers movie, and Banner decides to go back to living the way he was before in little tiny villages in the middle of nowhere to Tony's shagrin (obviously, because Tony would like him to come back to the tower with him and them have an awesome working science relationship but as we all know that's not Bruce's thing) and basically every time Bruce moves to a slightly different place out in the world that he finds comfortable (whether that be a desert in the Middle East or a or a random small town in Iceland or ), Tony will show up randomly out of nowhere one day and hang out with him and act like it's completely normal and make himself at home and inform him whats been happening with the Avengers and try to convince Banner (in his casual way) to come back. The best way to describe the way this fanfic made me feel is that scene in Avengers when Tony and Bruce are both working in the lab and Bruce is minding his own business and Tony won't stop invading Bruce's personal space (cue the famous poke part) and it's the funniest thing and their chemistry is off the charts, and then out of nowhere they have that conversation, which, I'll just put a snippet of here; Tony: [discussing the whole incident that made Bruce this way] "That much gamma radiation should have killed you." Bruce: "Are you saying that the Hulk - the other guy - saved my life? Bruce: "Saved it for - what?" Tony: "I guess we'll find out."
