I love Liam because...

“i love liam bc he’s human in the most beautiful way. he is a beautiful person physically, but the bulk of his beauty lies in who he is. liam is a leader — who leads by example rather than through empty words. the role he took on in one direction was of cushioning the hits to his friends whenever he could. although none of the boys had an easy time in the band, liam did so much to make it just a little bit easier for him. those were his friends, but liam has a sense of responsibility towards other people, too. he has taken to social media countless times to express his dissatisfaction with the way women on his team are treated, with the backwards politics of certain places. he has worked with various campaigns working to combat bullying in schools. he has spoken about his journey with mental health, struggles with substance abuse, being a victim of street violence — just to name a few societal issues. liam is human in a way that i think people are meant to be: flawed, but working everyday to better themselves. i hope the kindness liam shows the world returns to him tenfold. “ - @rosesau
