POWERRED CHAPTER 5

Here's the first 300 words:

Tord doesn’t usually dream. 

And that night is no different. Mostly. 

No dreams, but as close as he’s been to one in a long time. Just the barest hints of sensations. Impressions of feelings and thoughts so faint his mind can hardly grasp them. They swirl through the void in his head like an invisible mist and leave an almost imperceptible chill on his skin. 

They say nothing. Not anything he can understand, anyway. Not that he’s trying to, either. He’s just along for the ride. 

Then his body’s natural rhythm pulls him from the blackness and he wakes, not unpleasantly, with a long breath and streaks of green behind his eyelids.

The crack in his curtains lets the sun cut a beam directly across his face and he screws his eyes shut in discomfort. He rolls onto his back to avoid the light and forgets all about his dreamless dreams. 

Gradually, full consciousness returns to him. Tord stares at his ceiling, focusing in on a grease stain— from when he and Edd tried to kill a fly with sticky hands years ago— that had never washed out. He turns his head towards his door, his room is bathed in the red hue of his drapes. He can hear the birds outside and the sound of his own slow breathing. 

He feels so calm.

Tord looks at his clock, and then looks at it again when he can’t quite believe the time on it. It’s been forever since he’s been able to sleep in like this. 

As he pushes himself into a sitting position, he feels the deep, sharp, pull of stiff muscles. Particularly along his left side. He winces, then twists his torso to the opposite side to stretch out the ache. The dull pain is perfect. He’s here, he’s alive. The soreness means he’s put in good work. A job well done. 

He feels good.

He can hover at Tord's window for a sneaky little kiss hee hee! (Perhaps it's a guilty indulgence for Edd, considering his feelings...)

I also see Red Leader trying it with PowerEdd cause he can't pass up the opportunity to flirt lol

Red Leader/Tord wouldn't try it with Edd, he's too focused on crushing on his superhero alter ego </3

dyou think tord struggled with asthma during his time in the army?

Hi! Sorry for the late response!

I don't think Tord's asthma posed that much of an issue to him during his 8 years in the army.

I imagined that it was a problem when he was younger, but he eventually "outgrew" it by the time he reached high school. By the time he joined the military, it had been long enough and the symptoms mild enough that he was cleared for enlistment. The guy still smokes regularly, if that tells you anything. (Tho he's an idiot for doing so).

At this point, it's probably more of an inconvenience to him. He has an up-to-date prescription for his inhaler anyway, because Tord is all about redundancies and just-in-case's. He's probably had a small handful of asthma attacks during his 8 year service, but not bad enough to be discharged.

Hence why the asthma attack on the roof was such a surprise to him. At least he was smart enough to bring the inhaler with him.

Posting this here since things have died down a little. Mostly just some notes and thoughts I had about why the Tord plush looks so funky and off to people and what would fix it.

I wanted a seamless looping gif of the cliff scene for my main blog but couldn't figure out how to do it. So of course I took the only sane course of action and reanimated it by hand. I just reused the original background to make my life easier.
