Pick up - Air Max 1 wmns VT black pack

I'm not that much into a shoe with a black toebox, don't ask me why, there is just something about it that irritates me when I look at my feet from the birds eye view, but I made an exception for these anyways. And I'm fucking glad, specially considering that they sold out pretty quick. Yes an all black shoe sounds not that special, but the mix of different materials make this QS release a pure eyecatcher. Beautiful black suede with shiny sidepanels using the Vac Tech technology (seamless) combined with black leather lining and finished off with a creamy midsole to lighten the whole shoe up and giving it a sleek look. Beautiful. And alltough I did like the Thea that came in the same pack it was an easy decision, I am still a sucker for the AM1 silhouette. Don't think that will ever change..

On the negative side I have to say is the price, being almost double the price of a general AM1 release I had to think twice, but as usual I was just not strong enough to resist. Means I will miss out on the other VT's nike is bustin out right now which is a shame since the gum/mint one really caught my attention.

Pick up - Air Max 1 Essential

The combination of different shades of grey combined with pink sure is nothing new (pigeons anyone?) but who really cares. It works great, the colours just come together so smooth and create an amazing pair of "must haves".

Gladly I did not have to rob my saving account to get my hands on them. I honestly couldn't think of a better leaving present, so here's a BIG Thank you to the guys at Size? Glasgow for their generous leaving present. I am in love with them and sure will be walking the streets of Berlin with these real soon.

Pick Up - Air Tech Challenge

Whilst other people go out on a saturday night to meet their friends I had a hot date with the Bay. On my daily routine of searching the web for a bargain or just another shoe *that I REALLY need* I came across these bad boys. 

Air Tech Challenge from the early 90's. Deadstock. And I don't mean, nearly DS, or good as DS, or DS but they're still sitting in some shops. I'm talking proper Deadstock, never been worn, never been tried on, factory laced, (obviously) not available in the shops anymore and OG box. My size. Finding a shoe like this is why I do what I do. The feeling of coming across a pair like these after scrolling through a ton of shitty sneakers is perfection. I knew I had to have them. It was not just the sneakers that I wanted, but also the condition, the OG Nike box, it just felt that if I own these I own a tiny bit of Nike History

So while other people where getting ready for a night out, trying to figure what dress makes their boobs look the best, what perfume is the one the will attract the most women etc I got myself ready to go to war. E-Bay bidding war. So i spent my saturday night in front of the lap top. But there was no war, no annoying outbidder, nothing. Just my one bid and that was it, they were mine. 

So now, just look at them. What a nice pair of sneakers, and the box of course, I mean, it even has it's original price on it (£39.99). The fact that they arrived in a Cereal box makes them even cooler.

Not too sure yet if I'll ever gonna wear these, but so far definitely one of my fav Bay finds and well worth spending another saturday night in front of my laptop.

Pick Up - Adidas Consortium x Wood Wood Gazelle Vintage

Pictures honestly don't do these beauties justice. On the first look they might seem pretty simple, but if you take a closer look you can tell that this is not your everyday Gazelle. A soft premium suede upper and the hand stitched famous 3 stripes are just the beginning. Taking inspiration from the Californian desert, they went for a timeless sand colour combining it with a bright orange sole which is just the tiny bit of "loudness" this shoe needs. Other small details like the irresistible cork insole featuring the iconic trefoil printed under one foot with Wood Woods logo screened on the other, the waxed round laces ( 2 colours ), a fabric loop tag on the heel with it's unique swallowtail finish aaand of course the signature loop tag with an eyelet on the tongue as seen on all the Consortium models so far, show just how much attention went to every little detail.

These babies were a definite must have for me. For the first time ever the top Tier Consortium line decided to give us women a chance to get our hands on their notoriously quality kicks. Since these come in limited numbers you better move fast, most places are sold out already but there's still some sizes floating about... They're damn sure worth it.

Wood Wood once again proves that sometimes less is more and gave us ladies a rustique but feminine shoe to put our hands on. Pretty refreshing in a time where a lot of the lady releases are sickeningly girly but that's another topic. Honestly can't wait for that one sunny day where I'll be able to rock these.

Event - Crepe City 2013

The 7th edition of Crepe City was nuts, 1000's of Sneaker enthusiast at one spot at the same time wearing their sunday best.

In fact, there were so much folk that we had to queue up for more than 4 hours. More. Than. Four. Hours. Never again I want to hear that I'm inpatient.

Was it worth waiting so long? Yes and No. It was good seeing so many people sharing the same passion, the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant and I'm sure if you were one of the early birds or even better, got your hands on a VIP ticket, you probably went home with some sweet new kicks.

With Aprils Kicks ( http://aprilskicks.bigcartel.com/ ) and Small Feet Big Kicks ( http://shop.smallfeetbigkicks.com/ ) there was still some hope that I find something in my size and in fact I did. A gorgeous New Balance 996 all yellow. Anyone in a uk size above 5 has no clue of how hard it is to find them in my size. This was a no brainer for me, but it just wasn't my day. The shoes were supposed to be on hold for someone else and obviously that someone else showed up right when I took my wallet out. 

After that I gave up, getting up at 4 in the morning, 4 hours queuing, and constantly fighting my way trough the crowd got the better of me. My two friends did not have any more luck than me and so we left Crepe City with no new pick ups. 

We've done what every Girl would have done in our situation and treated ourself to burgers, peanutbutter milkshakes and of course got our nails done.

Respect to everyone who took part in this event, overall a great show but just a bit too congested.

Pick Up - Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 998 Tassie Devil

Sneaker Freaker is bustin out some heat for their 10th year anniversary, including the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 998 "tassie devil". One of the releases I've been looking forward to the most in a long while, although I won't be lucky enough to put them on my own feet. 

There's nothing about this shoe that I don't like. From just a hint of speckled midsole to the wee triangles on the forefoot that look like the tiny teeth of the Tasmanian Devil over to the different shades of purple combined with eggplant- the tassie devil is easily one of my new favorites. Using the much under-appreciated 998 makes them only more loveable and knowing that a healthy donation will be made towards saving the almost extinct tassie devil, made me feel less guilty for buying another pair of kicks. 

I was lucky enough to get my hands on them ( perks of working in a Sneaker shop ) ..or should I say my man got lucky, he will be the one who gets to rock them as soon we have what we call summer over here in scotland. For now they will rest in the box waiting to get out on the streets.

EVENT - SNEAKERNESS 2013

So where better tho start than the one-and-only, Sneakerness! For those who might not be familiar with this event, it is basically a mass gathering of sneaker enthusiasts who come together all under one roof, to buy, sell, trade and lets be perfectly honest, show off a little... 

Sneakerness is always something I look forward to, you get to meet people who share the same passion, introduced to new technologies not to mention the laid back atmosphere (because nobody wants there toes to be stepped on!) In short, the past sneakerness' have always been interactive, informative and generally a great weekend...

However, this year was quite different. Honestly, it felt more of a market than a convention, the community vibe of the past seemed to be lacking. To me it seemed there was a lot less concentration on the interactiveness, dont get me wrong, there were some instalments, but few and far between the vast sea of bodies. For me, this was also a problem. The large and unorganised que upon entry was the beginning of the hecticness, and it didn't stop throughout. 

On a positive note, the sellers really stepped it up this year, bringing a great selection of hard-to-come-by items. I even managed to pick up a pair of Roshes' in my tiny wee size.

Overall, I can't say Sneakerness 2013 lived up to my expectations. In no way was it a wasted weekend, but I hope to see it a bit more refined next time around..

This is gutties.

I am a female sneaker enthusiast, based in Glasgow, Scotland. Born and raised in Switzerland, I started getting into the colourful world of sneakers/trainers/kicks, or what the people of my current hometown would call; gutties when i was about 14/15. It started with a trip to Berlin, my first pick up would be an Air max 90 white/navy, a humble beginning to my unknowing entry into the world of sneakers. At this point, comfort was the main aspect that drew me to my purchase. As it happened, these were on sale, an added bonus I naively remember thinking. If only I could of known how much of an assault my bank balance would take in the years to come, perhaps I would of bought some flip flops. It was meant to be, I can still clearly remember the feeling I had when I started walking on the infamous air bubble, in a shoe that is so nicely padded it felt like a cloud had wrapped itself around my feet!

Then came a growing love, obsession or what has even been referred to as an 'addiction' for my shoes which inevitably descended into the wonderful world of Air Max 1, I was hooked. Amazed by the beautiful colourways, the story, the heritage, I simply couldn't help myself. Searching every corner of the web and travelling around the world, the AM1 began to dominate my collection, which was quite the task as a size UK3.5. If anything the hard-to-find size fuelled my hunger, convinced that every opportunity was a once in a life time chance. 'Buy it now' my saviour, my demise. 

I am now roughly 8 years into my Sneaker journey, working full time in a sneaker store and still avidly educating myself about sneakers, I feel its just that I try and give back what I can to the community, here is my story, and my future.
